Well there you go then, it was an error, such a shame, nasty bits of work all round.

They clearly charged £80 a night to win. There is no way a fancy boutique B&B can operate for that price on a regular basis. It was even advertised for £143 a night online. They cheated. It was obvious from the way he was making up excuse after excuse as he went along. That excuse that they only charge £80 to create footfall is bs.

It was more expensive for particular special occasions, not sure how that is too hard to understand.

Would you like the handy Digital Spy checklist so you can live up to our standards?

I watched it. Didn't think much to it. The only comments I have left is that at least Matt conducted himself with dignity over the feedback. I thought that last night too when Paul said he wasn't bothered and Matt replied that he was because he wanted all guests to be satisfied with their experience - so much better than the hacknied 'we wouldn't want them back anyway'

At the end I was disgusted at the winners spraying the bubbly everywhere, including the expensive camera equipment. Awful oikish behaviour.

I agree, dirty tactics. They would soon be bankrupt if they charged such low prices. I am disappointed that they won.

Oh dear! Due to some timey-whimey man in a blue box this weeks run has been erased from history.

Hopefully next week will go back to basics with ACTUAL B&B's and 'personality clashes' not liars and overly picky twits.

The guy checked online and the room was £143 for the same night and that wasn't a special occasion. He's lying.

What is a bit odd is how hard it seems to find a basic one night B&B rate. I haven't looked too hard admittedly, but they seem to be going for the two night minimum with one day Morgan car hire included.

I'd be interested to know the cost of a one night stay without the special occasion or extras.

I don't think it was the same night at all and I think that was conceded. It would be hard to see how the same room could be available when they were filming FIAB in it.

2 nights plus Morgan car hire in July £490, 2 nights plus car hire in October £450.

Well it was. They were caught out and the guy just backed down to avoid confrontation. Even when he asked him in the restaurant he skirted round the question and avoided the answer.

Exactly. So even 1 night without car hire must be around £150.

How could the room be available for that night if they were actually staying in it? Do they do swinging nights?

That could account for the extra cost

Perhaps, but he did not clarify this earlier in the week when he had every opportunity to do so.

Exactly. He skirted round the question and didn't give a straight answer.

I really didn't mind the winning threesome, the mum and son were fun too but the bedding situation was intolerable. The bloke that didn't show was probably embarrassed about the whole overcharging fiasco. The Middleham couple were a let down, I am destined to be in their pub in the near future, wish they had been nicer.

If it is suddenly dearer for a given day or weekend, any adept Googler could work out that it is because a local event is on.

We know that and the guy who checked the site knew that. But he said he checked for a room for the same period they were staying there and it came up as £143. Who cares now anyway. It's over with. No point in mulling over it. Onwards and downwards to next week.

Yes that is right but I say again he had every opportunity (several in fact) to clarify this but chose not do so.

He was lying and they definitely cheated.
