I think they should show something local to them, an attraction to come to their area's.

Have to say I wasn't pleased to see the cheats win this past week when I caught up this morning. Of course they would win, the rooms are clearly worth more than the low price they charged just for the show, they most likely believed people would be over paying, at least they didn't. I don't think they deserved their win though.
Yes, for sure. Whilst I don't usually agree with strategic under-payments I almost applauded on this occasion when two other contestants knocked off a fiver. Of course this wasn't deserved but sometimes karma does kick in. The couple who won played [what they thought] was a different game, thinking they were being very clever, and whilst they have the plaque to show off in the reception area of their lovely B&B their reputation and sense of fair play is nowhere to be seen anywhere.

I was just watching an older series yesterday afternoon - and the couple who won that show (waters edge in Barton on Sea) won because they refused to pay any of the others any more than they themselves charged, no matter where it was situated or what the going rates were in the places they went.

They were particularly unfair to one couple when they underpaid ostensibly because they had to leave their room to go and make a cup of tea in a central pantry - completely ignoring the fact that the made the couple in question walk down the corridor to use the bathroom...

I think the producers should make it clear that they cannot compare prices to what they charge themselves as prices differ so much across the country

The competition kicks off at David and Ewa Woodward's Keats Cottage in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. In the rooms, Donna Taylor from Jasmine House in Leicestershire makes a hair-raising discovery, while mother-and-daughter team Lesley and Chloe Priestly take a dislike to one of their competitors at dinner.

Tuesday

The second visit is to Jasmine House in Lutterworth, Leicestershire managed by Donna Taylor who believes in a no frills approach. But it doesn't take long for Martin and Sara to realise all the added extras in the room don't add up. During the afternoon Leslie and Chloe show their fighting spirit during a kickboxing lesson and all the B&Bers square up to their host.

Wednesday

The contestants travel to the luxury Halliwell House in Cheshire for the third day of the contest, where owners Martin Hulme and Sara Williams charge nearly £500 per night. Donna is astonished at the room rates, while David and Ewa are expecting nothing but perfection, but the self-service approach at breakfast confuses the guests, leaving Martin and Sara defiant in the face of their feedback.

Thursday

The final two days see the contestants staying the night at Soar Chapel Guest House in Wales, the family home of mum and daughter Lesley and Chloe Priestly. Expectations are high for this duo and one guest in particular is not disappointed. Things get going in the afternoon during a beatboxing contest, although old tensions resurface at dinner and the hosts are left to calm things down. A massive spread is laid on at breakfast, but when one guest takes issue with the cooked items, Lesley and Chloe worry what impact it will have come payment day.

Friday

The B&B owners meet for the last time to find out what they've been paid and to settle some scores. David and Ewa Woodward want to challenge Martin's criticism over the way they run their business. Next, Donna Taylor wants to find out more about the issue that caused Martin and Sara to lose sleep. Needless to say, there is tension in the air and axes to grind, before the winner is revealed.

Instead of the activities we need to see more of each B&B. Is there a residents lounge, access to the garden, car parking, a dry room for walkers, the usual check in and out times and so on. The actual facilities that are offered instead of irrelevant time wasters.
I wish we also saw more of the area. The participants seem to have very different interpretations of facilities when they score, and sometimes deduct marks that really have nothing to do with what most people would consider to be facilities - such as knocking marks off in this category because they thought the hosts were undercharging.

This show is now being dragged down by the tactics these people are using in order to win....now they are going online during filming and checking out each others rates.
I agree, i found the week bizarre in the extreme, and wasnt even bothered who won, as 2 of them were game playing, £40.00 underpayment, and £49.00 was extreme.

Surely the producers would make it clear at the onset that the prices given on the day would have to be the normal pricing for that period. I hated it all week, so picky and stupid.

I agree, it was one of the only weeks that we agreed we wouldn't stay at any of the places. we liked the mother and son duo but their place didn't suit us. I also noticed that links to the places were not available on Ch4 website either

The programme is no longer about B&B's though. It's 'evolved' to be about people and confrontation with their B&B's simply being the battleground. What a waste of a pleasant little programme.

I remember those ones! It goes hand in hand with those who complain and knock off money for no en suite, only for theirs to have none and a shared bathroom or something.

Thanks for weekly preview as usual.

Wednesday's place is confusing me from trip adviser it appears to be a hoiliday house type place and they're quoting £1,500 per night!

But on http://www.letsbookhotel.com/en/uk/h...ell-house.aspx shows it to be a B&B (full English is at an additional cost) the lowest quote is £205 for the twin room.

They don't like criticism. http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/hall...50#tab-reviews

"Bathroom not cleaned in 3 days or towels renewed. Poor choice for breakfast first morning, then it improved to include fruit. VERY expensive for what we received.

Halliwell House Boutique has responded to this review

Quite clearly we could not please these guests with anything .are location and position and reviews from are other guests speak for themselves ,I ALLWAYS Feel sorry for people who cannott leave honest reviews . We try at all times to accommodate what ever out guests require"

I think the mother and son are really nice. I think their relationship is great, it's lovely to see a 19 year old guy so chilled around his mum.
I agree. It's nice to see a 19 year old so relaxed around his Mum. Although it did annoy me somewhat how Lewis thought playing the 'thick' card on national TV was somehow a good thing.

A real shame the snooty couple won.

Hiya bit late now for this week, but I was also having trouble watching the programme on All 4 (what was called 4od!) In the end the only way I could find it was not to look under the actual programme title.

Instead you can go the heading (top right on my screen version of the app), called 'catch up' which lets you find programmes via the schedule (ie 5pm channel 4 etc) and hey presto you can watch the current episode.

Hope that makes sense and helps for next week - if this week's shenanigans haven't put you off
Thanks a lot, Totally

Actually, I've just discovered that this week resumes series 10 (the first week was series 10 for 5 episodes, then there was a unexpected backflip to series 9) and today it picks up from ep. 6 as if the intervening week hadn't happened. WTH. At least now I know how to un-sabotage my viewing!

At £500 a night only millionaires can stay there.

Possibly not, the woman from Lutterworth looks decidedly ropey.

How can they call it a B&B for £500 a night? Ridiculous. You could have a 2 week holiday in Spain or somewhere else in Europe for that.
