For that price I would want to be hand fed by an attractive bikini model.

(I'm not surprised that they said they didn't have enough cash on them!)

I like Donna & liked her rooms too, yes a bit naughty to put extras in their rooms when she doesn't usually, it may damage her on payment day but at least she admitted it.

I hope the next person Mr Droney Bore asks about their profit margin or other financials is told to mind his own and I hope the disgusting shower drain shown at the start of tonight's programme is at his place.

For that price I'd expect no bikini on the bikini model!

I am catching up with the last 2 episodes. I feel like killing Martin Medieval style. What on earth does his wife see in him? She must have earplugs in 24/7.

What do the business plans have to do with hosting? Why is that git marking people down because he doesn't deem their business plans suitable?

£500 a night and you have to serve your own breakfast! Blooming hell! He has a very brass neck.

£445 and self service breakfast? Is Martin having a laugh?

There isn't enough money in the world to put up with him.

Absolutely ridiculous, the last b&b I worked in was £40 per night and included full English or continental ,clean beds and a happy smile

I did notice her opinions and experience counted for nothing. He had a poor nights sleep (as he couldn't get his head around taking off a pillow) so the score was 4 - though Sara clearly looked like she'd had a perfectly nice sleep. And again, when deciding "would you visit again", it was him who decided with no input from her.

I am getting an impression that she isn't really there to give opinions.

Someone else said he was like Norris from Coronation Street. With that daft voice he's an amalgam of daft prats from Corrie such as Norris, Alec Gilroy and Reg Holdsworth. He even has their kind of look of a daft prat.

As said before; So, what was it that first attracted you to the millionaire businessman Martin?

I'vebeen half watching. I feel sorry for the non controversial contestants who're doing a good job because it's not great viewing. Martin is actually putting me off the programme, his voice and his opinions, he's so over bearing.

It's very intrusive and personal. 'How much did you pay for this place?' I'd have told him I had no wish to discuss my personal finances with him let alone have it aired on TV.

I really didn't get his critique of the pillows. He could've said not to his taste or not good enough quality, but the way he demonstrated his head bouncing up and down was most odd. When I lie down my head tends to stay where I put it unless I turn over

Same as when the two women demonstrated the squeaky bed. You're not supposed to sit on the edge of a bed anyway, it's very bad for the mattress, but who sits side by side on the edge and bounces on it? that's not proving any point as it's not what you'd be doing if you were sleeping in it.

I've got to pay attention tonight though, just to see what magnificence you get for nearly £500 per night with a self serve breakfast.

I've only half-watched the last couple of nights - half-watched last week's too... but I've set tonight's episode to record.

Martin's a wonderful businessman, no doubt, but I suspect he wasn't in the hospitality industry. For such an expensive property, he's got a crap website. And, unless the site doesn't work on Firefox, there's nothing on the Tariff page. Which is weird.

http://www.halliwellhouse.co.uk/

Even the photo gallery doesn't succeed in making the property look worth £7-£8k a week... though when I've seen the snapshot views on the 4iaB previews, it does look lovely and furnished to a high standard. I don't think he's used a professional photographer or web designer. Stupid mistake.

Still, the prices are on the link below - scroll down to the bottom to get the for 12 / for 8 / etc weekly and daily costs. While you're there, note that the availability calendar is wide open - ie, calendar not updated since last September and apparently no bookings at all during 2016.

https://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/hale/240443

I know there is a market for big get-togethers for family / friends gatherings - there are sites that specialise in them -
for eg: http://www.thebigdomain.com/united-kingdom
...and Halliwell House may well have its place and be successful in that sort of niche, but it seems such a bad fit with the way 4iaB works. It's a high-quality, large capacity, self-catering holiday home and making it relevant and appealing to a 4iaB audience will take better presentation and marketing skills than Martin has displayed so far. Maybe he needs the help of the Charmed Ones.

Being sooooo judgemental in advance of actually watching the show I think he's got his marketing wrong, his pricing wrong (is Hale, Cheshire a 'destination' town ?) and to offer one night stays in that property is absolutely bonkers. It should be a minimum of 2 night stays or even 3 night stays. I suspect he's got sod all in the way of bookings (still only one TA review and this 4iaB series looks to have been filmed 6-7 months ago at least). I suspect 4iaB is desperation tactics. Wrong show but potentially great publicity.

We will see.

ps: excerpt from the TA review:
We had a arranged to have use of the hottub (for an extra charge) which we all loved. Things such as robes can be provided but they have small additional charges so I would advise to take your own. Also remember to take your slippers as there are cream carpets throughout so you must remove your shoes.

Bits in bold are by me. So you pay £300-400 a night per room and have to pay extra for the hot tub, robes and no free slippers ???
