Don't forget to check the plughole for human waste and under the rim of the toilet with some toilet paper.

It's just not British! There should be a campaign against it, it's just silly.

Because they run one.

Not wanting to go back to any of the b&bs because they prefer not to stay in small b&bs doesn't stop them paying fairly on a value for money basis. But I bet they don't.

I can see why they might not want to stay in small b&bs: they spend their working life being interested in and pleasant to strangers - maybe they don't want to be bothered when they're travelling for themselves. They just want to collect their keys and go to their room.

Their preference for anonymity might (does!) sound pretentious but I've stayed in a few English, 3 or 4 room b&bs over the past 18 months and with one exception they've (presumably) Googled me in advance, found me online and they know I run a b&b. So they drag the subject into our conversation and usually want to chat business. I'm mostly not interested in doing that.

So perhaps that's what he's describing as liking to be 'anonymous' in a bigger property or small hotel - the owners or managers just (pleasantly and helpfully) take bookings and payments.

(And I rarely Google my guests - maybe twice in the past 5 years - but I know a lot of owners who habitually do).

I envy you, I grew up in Ross on Wye and would love to stay at Orles barn. It's quite pricey I think.

I'll let you know what it's like if you'd like me to.

We've been to Ross on Wye twice, last time we stayed at The Kings Head, it was lovely there too, very clean, couldn't see any hairs or pee on the seat, or dust 😀

I had the same two thoughts! I wish they'd stop all the phoney kissing - it makes me sick. And that chopped up omelette would have been promptly sent back! How can you serve food like that when it's your business? It looked horrendous.

Michael is really coming across as quite unpleasant now. I'd be surprised if they don't underpay everyone and end up winning. They wouldn't deserve it based on what we've seen so far. The two Billy's place on today's programme looks very nice.

The activities seem to be chosen based on how awkward and uncomfortable they will make the other contestants feel. To suggest Marie was overreacting is silly, being scared of snakes is pretty normal.

Am not a Marie fan, well not a fan of any of them tbh, the Bills exempt as they haven't hosted yet, but, there was urine or urine lookalikey on the toilet and her comments about it and the 'cleaned' banner thing were correct.

I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about re her pillow, if she sleeps better on it or prefers it for hygiene reasons then so what!

I am terrified of snakes and there is no way I would have done what she did, so good on her, no need for Michaels snippy comments about it.

OK, that in itself is enough for me to never stay in a small b & b. That comes across as vaguely creepy.

If they googled me, they'd find I'm a textile artist that makes small embroidered birds. I've got a healthy following on FB. You all now know that but that's because I just chose to tell you. If I'm going on a trip or holiday, I want to enjoy it. If I get into a conversation with someone about what I do, that's my choice if I want to tell people. Normally I underplay it and say 'I make little birds for the tops of wedding cakes' - in truth I have done that, I don't do it anymore, I now work on one off pieces.

Weird to google future guests! Are they expecting to find out if they have a criminal record or what??

I noted that the first time she used it she brought it in discretely inside a little case. Now the producers have spotted it she was (I assume) persuaded to parade into the B&B carrying just the pillow so the host couldn't help but notice it!

Yes, you're quite right, a fear of snakes is hardly unusual, but to be fair, and although I'm not at all keen on Michael, after the ridiculous sleeping in the bathrobe incident, it's no wonder that Marie has been branded a drama queen. I don't like Marie either, and I reckon she is a major drama queen.

That was pretty silly, I thought. She arrived carrying no luggage apart from her pillow, apparently. The producers must think we're simple!

No, it doesn't and this is a competition where they are meant to judging on value for money. So the question of whether they'd stay again is rather redundant. Unless of course it's there to rile the hosts when anyone says NO!

How can anyone working in catering not know how to cook good scrambled eggs? But then, it did seem like she didn't actually care.

This place looks really lovely. I think there's going to be a lot of jealousy from the others and tactical scores.
