Yesterday, Marianne said that the room was too white and too clinical. Her lodges are pretty much the same! Daft bint.

Perhaps she hasn't considered that when one goes on holiday, one doesn't want to have to cook breakfast one's self and one certainly doesn't want to wash up, does one? One considers It's just not done. After all one's bling will get all greasy and soapy and might turn green!

And what was all that crap about I wanted to build lodges in Essex or whatever it was? She won't had any say in whether they were built or not. The owners decided to build lodges. She's an employee. They employed her to manage them. End of.

Have we ever been told anything about her previous employment history?

No-one would stay again. Oh dear. Her ego must have taken a really big hit with that. Personally, I thought the lodges were lovely!

I doubt she had anything to do with the decor either, that would have been down to the owners, hence there wasn't animal prints everywhere.

I thought the lodges were gorgeous and not bad value for money - first week in September for a sleeps-4 lodge is about £1060 for 7 nights - so that works out at about £38 per person per night. For that location and property it seems good value as there aren't any extras (apart from food and, presumably, having to do your own end-of-stay cleaning). Without checking to see what comparable self-catering properties cost in that area (oh but wait... they're unique, aren't they? ) I'd say the lodges are much better value than the Brighton b&b.

But if you wanted a b&b with all that is implicit in bed & breakfast... well, you wouldn't book there.

I just tried to show OH the lodges but the website seems to have crashed. Not for bad reasons, I suspect - it was great publicity. The real benefit of self-catering is that any interraction with Marianne would be minimal.

If as she said the others didn't get their self catering concept - it's possibly because they thought they were on a programme featuring other bed and Breakfast establishments - not self catering lodges!

The lodges did look lovely - but while the 2 bed ones look reasonable value for money - the one bedroom lodges seem very pricey - especially as the minimum stay is 3 nights (which in August was still over £600 for the 3 nights, and no mention of the "luxury hamper" being included.

I'm sure the owners are cringing at the way Marianne has come across this week, loud, rude and vulgar, and a world away from the impression they would like to give their potential customers!

I was very unimpressed by the "lodges". When I've stayed in similar places in North America, there's been an option to eat breakfast (and sometimes dinner) in the main lodge and that's very much the standard, especially in the US. Also, those lodges have been in spectacular settings, forests, lakeside or seaside. Marianne's lodges looked like they were just plonked in a field. For what she's charging I would most definitely want breakfast (and a very good one) to be cooked and served for me.

I like how Marianne said it would "be a change" for the guests to cook their own breakfasts; they do that every day at home!

Each lodge has its own kitchen but the one 'volunteered' to cook for everyone else.

Those lodges are massive but thought she was showing the same one as the decor is the same in everyone

The place looked lovely and relaxing but way to expensive but looks like they are more for big families or groups of friends.

Having lived in Essex all my life there are some beautiful places in Essex. Wakes Colne, Earles Colne are really lovely. It's the likes of TOWIE that has made it seem like a hell hole They are all London overspill.

Just keep away from Basildon and Pitsea. They were lovely but now ruined.

All the moaning about nbody frying a breakfast for them is pathetic. Does nobody like to do anything different? The first one this week had a lovely breakfast which the Blackpool pair whingers about. Maybe it's just me but all this mountain of greasy stuff is not something I would ever eat whether on holiday or not. All the complaining about not having the same grease filled stuff every day is extremely tedious.

Pie eyed - I think the point of the moaning about cooking their own breakfasts is that the other contestants thought that they were in a competition for Bed and Breakfast establishments - not a very obvious self catering place (there's no mention on the website of "luxury breakfast hampers" being provided to normal guests).

Unless I specifically choose to go on a self catering holiday, I expect the place I stay to provide me with some sort of breakfast - be it continental or cooked, have it served to me (r on a buffet), and the debris cleared away after we have finished. At over £200/night - I would expect a lot more than a £55/ night place would provide.

I have a feeling that there are HUGE under payments on the way to Marianne this afternoon, probably even more than the expensive place in Brighton...... The winner is between Blackpool and Knaresborough

I hope they do underpay Marianne. Such a misplaced sense of self importance needs taking down a peg or two. At £200 odd quid a night I want my breakfast cooked for me and served on a gold plate.

Whilst the title of the show is not 4 B & Bs in a bed, the general pitch of this show is that the people taking part run Bed & Breakfast establishments. There's a section on the marking sheet to grade the breakfast out of 10. Why put a self catering place into the show? Especially one that doesn't usually provide a breakfast hamper and only did so for the show.

I've seen shows when it's been lodges or tents or caravans but the breakfast is always provided in one way or another as standard, not a one off, even if they do have to cook it themselves.

Yes. Animal prints, blingy and ostentatious! And she still had a cheek to criticise the other place for being white and too clinical. When the lodges are much the same. Mad.

The outside of the lodges is beyond ugly, I'm sure they could be cheered up a bit.

The Four in a Bed group on Facebook has been joined by Catherine, from the Brighton B&B. She said the group didn't realise till afterwards that Marianne didn't own the lodges as she gave everyone the impression that it was her own business.

That was exactly what I was going to point out, do the others actually know she is only an Manager not an Owner, so answered my question they did not.

That's why she waffled on at dinner yesterday and as they said didn't really tell them anything.

The opening line of the programme's voice over states it's 'Four sets of B&B owners...' so they're wrong on both counts from the off!

I would hate to stay there, so clinical and big with nothing in them. Each one looked the same as the other one. I bet their cold in the winter. I thought i was looking at a housing estate.

For me I cant imagine staying in a field with these sterile places, i would rather be in Blackpool.

She was very naughty too gave the impression she owned the lodges she didnt. She is just a manager, with staff.

Nah not for me. I would rather pay that sort of money and go abroad.
