What a weird result.

No-one wanted to stay at Marianne's lodges again yet she came second. I suppose no-one wanted to stay again because of the breakfast. So the result was probably fair. Those lodges were extremely nice. That underpayment from Denise of £50 was undeserved. Marianne wasn't a nasty person. She's a bit of a big-headed and a bit daft but she turned out to be a fair payer. She just needs to wind her neck in!

All self-catering establishments should be on a prog with other self-catering establishments. It's unfair on all the competitors to have breakfasts which are a mix of cooked and self-catered.

That's really down to the producers for accepting the lodges on the prog.

Someone could've overpaid on one of the other places and the rest paid in full, then that place would've had over 100% and would've been the winner. Highly unlikely in this case though

I wish they would make it so that every week, all four places were the same type, same price range and same area - THEN you would have a real competition!

Oh, and don't allow comments to be read until the final day.

I meant at the end when they were making the announcement. She acted really shocked and nearly jumped out of her chair when she found out she won.

Agree also with less going back to what we have already seen each day and an hour long show on Friday for the feedback to be read.

I mentioned earlier on here that I served her in the shop that I work in on Wednesday.. She is big as in tall and bold. Thinking back she did not seem a nice person. And like you say she was very fair in her payments.

Tbh .. The lodges are the only place I would stay at as I love the countryside

No mention of hampers on the website - they are a self catering set up and normally no breakfast food is provided. This was a one off for the show as they are marked on the breakfast

Oh I did wonder if they normally provided a breakfast hamper as that's not self catering

I noticed on TripAdvisor that someone mentions being taken to the shop to buy provisions because they had no food, so it looks like you're right - food isn't normally provided at all.

I got the impression, although I have no evidence to support this, that she was under strict instructions to be on her best behaviour!

Why do people say that? The slightest hint of criticism and you must be jealous of them!

For me I cant imagine staying in a field with these sterile places, i would rather be in Blackpool.

She was very naughty too gave the impression she owned the lodges she didnt. She is just a manager, with staff.

Nah not for me. I would rather pay that sort of money and go abroad.”

I agree with you. It was all a bit Stepford Wives for my taste.

I don't know if this link will work, or even if it is a link, I haven't quite managed to get to grips with all this malarkey anyway, I found this on the homeaway site.

It's very interesting if you can find it .....

That was my perception too - the obvious pantomime villain was not really and meanwhile proper nastiness (the horrible snobs from Brighton and the underpayers from Harrogate) went under the radar.
It was the same as last week when Matthew was such an obvious "baddie", when in fact he was just a bit too intense, but all the time the spotlight was on him bullying Jade with her Derbyshire breakfast and cackling sidekick, were untouched.

Perhaps by the editors of the programme but not by those viewing, they were both vile and (even worse) they seemed to like being perceived that way. The viewing public will 'vote with their feet' and thank goodness for that.

Yes, I assumed it was a one off for the show but how on earth can you mark on a breakfast you have cooked yourself?

Imagine if you went into a hotel room and things weren't right, perhaps a tear in a curtain, a staine mattress, threadbare carpet a cracked mirror etc......
Ok you wouldn't be too impressed, but you would hardly find an empty skip and pile everything in it

I've just had a thought. One of the rooms featured this week had a window that could not be opened - it looked like complicated secondary double glazing. Is this legal?

Works perfect

Seems the owners name is Nick.Percival as he is replying to the comments.

I don't think I would stay at any of the b&b's on the feedback given on the show tbh as they are being sent to a place they would never book in the first place hence all the to noisy/to quiet comments.

I thought that was a horrid thing to do.

I found them an arrogant couple tbh.

"Based on a three night stay", so the I night price was not correct to just divide by three!

The 1 night price was correct. It is the price per night, based on a 3 night stay. It is cheaper, per night, if you book for a week and a three night stay is the minimum booking

Monday

The competition begins at the Cuban-inspired Brovey Lair in Ovington, Norfolk, where owners Mike and Tina Pemberton kick things off with a salsa class, much to the horror of Sam Millidge and Nathan Pearce. Next morning, the open-plan restaurant and breakfast room causes issues for Richard and Sheryl Middleton, while Tina and Mike aren't happy with their feedback.

Tuesday

The competition moves on to its second Norfolk B&B of the week, The Orangery, where Ricky and Vicky Kerrison's guests get competitive at an outdoor activity centre and try to leap from as high as possible on a jumping tower. Perfectionist Richard loses his nerve while young Sam and Nathan race to the top, and Vicky is determined to take them on.

Wednesday

Sam Millidge and Nathan Peace, the owners of the King's Head in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, host the third of this week's stop-overs. Their rooms come in for some tough criticism, especially from Mike and Tina, and a light-hearted game of bubble football becomes a little too serious for Richard and Sheryl. Over dinner, the guests grill the pair over how they came to be in charge of their business at such a young age, but the genial atmosphere sours for Tina when she discovers Sheryl is a cordon-bleu trained chef. As the stay draws to a close, the boys are upset to find out their hosting and breakfast skills have failed to receive high marks.

Thursday

The guests roll up at Buzzard House in Herefordshire, whose owners Richard and Sheryl Middleton have swapped corporate careers for the B&B world. However, while the establishment has well-appointed rooms, Sam and Nathan think a few basics are missing, and tension between self-taught chef Tina and cordon-bleu-trained Sheryl crop up again - especially during a pancake cook-off. Later, a different side to Sheryl leads Tina to have a change of heart. But soggy fritters at breakfast threaten the high scores the couple are after.

https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_...e_England.html

Friday

The B&B owners meet for the last time to find out what they've been paid and to settle some scores. Mike and Tina from Brovey Lair want to discuss Richard and Sheryl's breakfast feedback, while Ricky and Vicky from the Orangery have similar questions for Tina and Mike. Finally, once the dust has settled, the winners are announced.
