Don't think so. She's the large blonde lady who hosted yesterday with her equally scruffy ginger friend.
Sheesh, her place was like a late 80`s timewarp and desperately in need of 60 Minute Makeover

I wouldnt be happy with a cat running round either , I have a dog but do not want other peoples pets around me in a B&B.
I found it really odd that there were their own clothes in a guest wardrobe, and the excuse was the house isn't big enough for them to be stored elsewhere. Don't they realise people are paying for the room, so it shouldn't have their personal clothing in there at all. If they need the space so badly, then don't let the room. End of! As for the shared bathroom and pre ordered breakfast - well it has all been said before. Weird woman who can't be wrong. Shock coming at the end of the week I think. Does she remind anyone else of Prue Leith to look at? |

Just picked this up from FIAB website re payment day this week.
"It's the payment day and accusations fly. There are storm outs, arguments and tension before the payments are revealed and the winner announced." Run of the mill Friday then. |

As Deidre said at the end - "its like they don't know what a B&B actually is". To me a B&B is a room in someones house - personal effects, shared bathroom, pets and all. I'm sure their clientel realise all that before they book and, of course, it's reflected in the price. Ironically this kind of B&B is very rarely featured on 4iab - are they now pretty much extinct?

I booked a room in a traditional B&B over the phone, no deposit taken. When I arrived mid afternoon there was a note on the door for me. They had forgotten they were at a function, the key was next door. I was in that house for hours alone and nothing seemed to have been locked away. So trusting, so welcoming. As you say, we rarely see this type of B&B on 4inaBed. I wonder if today's couple have ever watched the programme? |

I absolutely adore cats. BUT would I want someone elses cat round the breakfast table when I am paying to stay there? A big, fat, resounding NO!!!!!! It was all very well for the "lady of the house" to say it is on their web site, but the rooms where guests eat and sleep should definitely be out of bounds for animals.
End of! Does she remind anyone else of Prue Leith to look at? Oh dear, Mrs Bucket got a nasty shock. Clothes in the wardrobes, cats in the breakfast room and hard poached eggs. But they've never had any complaints! No-one would dare argue with that woman. How many guests return? |

I was puzzled to hear yesterday's lady say that the breakfast was bound to be less than ideal because she had to serve all her guests more or less at the same time: I thought the whole point of the pre-ordering was precisely to enable this. Am I missing something?
Also, I think that if B&B owners insist on pre-ordering, than they should be prepared to expect a certain amount of waste as I personally would not want to massively under-order: just a usual, but if it should turn out that I'm not up to it that particular morning - for whatever reason - it stays on the plate. It's never happened, though !
