I thought tonights place was brilliant! Would I stay there - no, it simply isn't my thing. But for their market it is fabulous. How on earth could anyone underpay?

I would love to stay there just for the experience - I think it would be great.

What would you consider a fair dorm room + breakfast price for central Salford?

£10 each for a 6 person room cause you could probably get a Travelodge or similar chain for £49. Actually I've just checked and the Ibis Hotel on Salford Quays is only £29 a night for a room.

Interesting. But on 4iab the owners have to charge their peak rate for the show, so it maybe you can get a bunk there for less at some times of the year. For comparison the YHA in Manchester is charging only £13 per night for a bunk room bed for some nights this month, but some nights are £35. Breakfast is extra at the YHA. (Usually £5).
There is no way I would pay £35 for a hostel.

Depends where you're wanting to stay, I once stayed at a hostel in Central London for about £30 - £35 a night which is a complete bargain when you think a hotel room can cost in the region of £100 and upwards a night!

If you are sharing with one or two people I would prefer to pay a little extra and get a more comfortable private room with my own bathroom. You can get an Ibis or other chain in London for about £79.

I've just checked out Ibis, Salford and although the rooms are advertised as 'from £26' the only rooms currently available are £86 for 2 people + £5.50 each for breakfast.

I'm sure you could still get a room in a chain for less than £50 a night. I know which I'd prefer rather than sharing a bedroom and bathroom with 4 strangers. Just checked and the Comfort Inn is available for £40 tonight.
