Did they lie about both being deaf? they seem to be coping rather well.
Unless they have cochlea implants, but even then lip reading plays a large part at times. I have a deaf friend and she still likes to lip read.

Yes , they dont seem to be lip reading at all.

I wouldn't expect a B & B to put an iron and ironing board in every room. As long as they are available, that's fine.
