Really?

I'd like to see the evidence of that.

I can hand on heart say that there is not one single element of truth in that - but you believe what you want.

Rather ridiculous that someone who simply comes in with a different take on things is called a troll and a previously banned member.

I'm sure that if you look around the DS forums there are plenty that'll vouch for me.

I'm not on FB - I would like to know who's spreading absolute rubbish about me though. Says far more about them than me.

Good day to you all.
Bye bye have a great life, and say hi to Thelma and Louise for me.....

Before this becomes too ridiculous, it's worth remembering that it is better to attack the post, not the poster.

I politely asked you one straight forward question that left you the option to reply 'No, I'm afraid I don't' yet you reply with a tirade like this. That speaks volumes on many levels. I wouldn't complain about your treatment on here any more as it certainly isn't one way.
And I politely answered - it may have been lenghthy and not what you wanted to hear but it was neither rude nor a tirade.

Can I ask how many of you strip a bed and pull out the furniture when you stay at a B&B or hotel?

I cannot say I ever have or have ever felt the need to.

TBH with the prices charged at the places I stay, I really don't want to know whats lurking under the bed

This thread is generally a fun place to hang out, but it's turned really ugly in the last few pages. A couple of you need to grow the hell up - and I'm not talking about Penny Crayon, who came on here with her perfectly reasonable views and got a load of childish abuse in return.

I'm done here for a while.

I think it's beyond ridiculous, it's normally quite apparent when somewhere is not as clean as you would like without having to do all that.

I can honestly say that I have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels for private and business stays (I used to work away from home and stayed away 4 nights per week all over the country) and have never, ever stripped a bed or moved furniture.

At home? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I wouldn't like to think how much dust there is under my beds.

Errrrrrrrrrrrm - wasn't it on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday as well?

Anyway I'm done here - I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be or who I'm supposedly trying to fool I'm just giving my view on it.

All a storm in a tea cup.

As far as I'm aware all the contestants have chatted since and there's no hard feelings - (I could be wrong on that but that's what I heard) - I'm sure they all know that they put their reputations on the line. Sue and Lou haven't come out well but I honestly don't foresee any lasting damage (much to the disappointment of many).

I'm sure they all work hard - some come over kinder/nicer/fairer - that's what the show is about.

Good luck to all of them.

Yes and Friday was the day we all found out how nasty they were with their underpaying.

Good day to you all.
I'm quite frankly amazed at the accusation to be honest. I have encountered you on other threads over a significant period of time and am sure that in a lot of cases your views on things have been pretty close to my own (I think, if I am remembering correctly!).

I definitely do not think you are a troll and am quite appalled at the accusation. It stinks and should be retracted.

Having said which, sorry, Penny, but I thought your acquaintances came over incredibly badly last week. I would definitely not stay with them because of that. If they were stitched up, then I am sorry, but at the end of the day, it is what it is.

Yes well said. I didn't like Sue and Louise one little bit and said so further back on the thread, however we are all watching a reality TV show which I'm guessing most of us tune into because we want to see some controversy. Regarding Penny Crayon, I've never met her, exchanged personal messages with her or anything like that, I just want to say that she makes great contributions to another thread about a different reality TV show and IMO there is no way she is a troll ..

You know time was on these threads when you could have a sensible debate and anyone who could offer a bit of local or personal knowledge was welcomed to the discussion whether or not posters wanted to agree with them.

For what it's worth when Penny Crayon first mentioned knowing the owner of Lilly's Pad she specified 'friend/acquaintance' not best buddy or even close friend. She's only spoken as she finds.

If someone I was aware of was on and came across really badly, would it even be worth my time coming on here and saying something in their defence? telling my real life experience?
I really don't think I'd bother now and I certainly wouldn't want unfounded gossip about me or my opinions offboard.

If anyone thinks they've encountered a banned poster or troll, then the grown up thing to do is report their posts to the mods and let them deal with it.
Not that I think there have been any on this thread. Not as yet anyway. It wouldn't be a bad idea to reread the T&Cs we all sign up to though, just to be on the safe side.

As I have said, I have encountered Penny in other threads and have never had a problem with her. I think bringing in accusations from other social sites is appalling just because you don't agree with someone. Granted, there are trolls on DS but they are easily recognised and don't tend to last long. Penny definitely does not fall into that category.

Having said which, as Solarsail says, this thread is about a reality television program ... And although we tend to get invested in it and no one likes to see unfairness, it is not up to us to get aggravated and start getting impatient with others on behalf of the contestants, who are all aware of the pitfalls of taking part.

Let's just agree to disagree and respect each others opinions without it getting so heated. Life is too short!

1st place the Kings Head has mascorators that's bound to be an issue

2nd Beck Hall had been neglected but is being revamped (don't stay in room 6! It wasn't used for filming as one persons has posted a 2* review noting the filming at the time )

Sounds like Monday and Tuesday couples won't be keeping in touch

Interestingly, a seasoned ex-Digital Spy regular...
I interpret that as: one who has been banned. Lots...

-------------------------

Several people on this thread seem to have gone mildly bonkers over the course of the day and probably need to take more water with it... but what I came in to say is that yesterday there was some discussion about whether a TripAdvisor review could be published on the basis that the reviewer had watched a tv show but had never visited the property.

The answer is no - from TripAdvisor's review guidelines, a review has to be written on the basis of first-hand experience. Watching 4iaB doesn't meet that guideline. So if Lilly's Pad - or any other participant - has been given a TA review by someone who only visited via their tv, they can ask TA to remove the review as it does not meet published guidelines.

Certify that your review is based on a genuine travel experience by selecting the check box...

Authentic guest reviews of first hand experiences - We accept reviews that detail first-hand experiences with the facilities or services of an establishment. General discussion that does not detail a substantial experience will not be posted.

I've posted with Penny from the ch4 days for getting on for 10 years. I dont always agree with her but have always found her very straightforward. The way she has been jumped on in this thread is nothing short of disgusting for daring to have a different viewpoint.

Quite, and from people I had previously viewed as quite reasonable posters.

As I have said, I think it's time we all agreed to disagree and respect each others' opinions. And if we can't do that without resorting to nasty, unproven accusations or what comes terribly close to bullying, then maybe we should think twice about airing our view in public (at least REALLY think about what you are going to say and how you are going to come across before hitting the 'post' button..). Think of it this way; if you would be unhappy having such views aired about you then don't inflict it on someone else.

Have just watched the Mrs Tee Eps again ... I actually thought the rest of them were great and .... She was true to herself, no games, just extremely eccentric (and maybe she could gave taken some of my advice above!!!!)

Well you'll know full well Croc that I'm not sat here crying in my beer

Thank you for your support and to everyone else ^^^ (callys Mum , Jules et al.)

It's ironic that some posters are harping on about nastiness but see fit to jump on someone with a different take.

Hey ho - I've battled worse.

I really don't think anyone has 'jumped on' her at all, and she hasn't held back in her own comments or her tone. It is also quite unpleasant to refer to anyone's post as 'disgusting'.

I've tried to reply in a measured way, as others also have. It's hard to pin down quite why there was such a reaction to the two Lilly's Pad women but there was clearly something about them and their behaviour which many people disliked strongly. Perhaps it was the blatant unfairness of their payments and their excuses. Still, I am sure they will reap what they have sown, and I am looking now to next week which I shan't be able to watch till the weekend as I am working away next week. I do hope there are not too many hair hunts!
