I really didn't like Teri and Stuart today. She seemed a bit odd. I think she will be over critical about things that don't matter. He is like a whispering assassin. All quietly spoken and underpaying at every turn imo

how do you survive without cake?
![]() I'm fortunate that I can eat things like cake where the eggs are amalgamated with lots of other ingredients and egg is only a small part of it - but it's the eggs on their own that make me throw up violently - especially the yolks (I have the same reaction to scallop roe too) - but only in moderation! That said, although I can eat cooked cake - licking the bowl with raw batter would make me I'll I can't eat things like quiche, custard, mayonnaise, egg based sauces like Hollandaise etc. Fortunately I don't have much trouble avoiding things that upset me, and if in doubt, I don't! |

Hmmm I'm not sure I liked yesterday's hosts.....
I will defer judgement until I've seen how they behave at the other places - but I just get the feeling from her reaction to the young couples hospitality experience and the write ups about the programme that she has her knives out for them at least! The ballroom dancing couple? Yes, I think they could well be smiling assassins, |

I'm sure I saw them take frozen sausages out of a bag - looked like Richmonds sausage to me, cheap and nasty.
It's not just a B&B, it's a caravan park too and they sell breakfast to the self-caterers. |

They are not a group that really look as though they will gel to be honest and that was evident at the breakfast table. It all seemed somewhat awkward.

Heart attack on a plate. All from frozen outlets. Frozen and cooked bleurgh......
To be honest i can never understand this obsession about eating a fried greasy breakfast first thing in the morning lol...... no wonder why there is a weight problem in this country lol. Still a really good breakfast all freshly sourced and made is a lot more appealing. I would rather pay for quality then quantity personally. IF the menu was showing pricing does that mean its not bed & breakfast then, am I to assume its bed with a breakfast you have to pay for or was that for just people coming in off the streets. Are checked their site it includes breakfast, then thats a very good deal to be able to eat a huge meal for 40.00 - 60.00 (single and double), and 85.00 for family room. http://kingsheadaddlethorpe.com/index.php/guest-rooms |

You dont need eggs to make a good cake
![]() The brekkie did look horrible, cheap and nasty sausages, and far too much on the plate, quality should always win over quantity. 200 g sweetened condensed milk 140 g self-rising flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda 60 ml melted butter or 60 ml margarine 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 75 ml water DIRECTIONS Sieve the flour, baking powder and baking soda together. Mix the flour mixture, condensed milk, melted butter, essence, and water and beat well. Pour the mixture into a greased and dusted 6 inch diameter round tin. Bake in a hot oven at 200 degrees C (400 degrees F) for 10 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 150 degrees C (300 degree F) and bake for a further 10 minutes. The cake is ready when it leaves the sides of the tin and is springy to touch. When ready, take out from the oven and leave for 1 minute. Invert the tin over a rack and tap sharply to remove. Cool the the cake on a wire rack. |

Everything was crammed on the plate and the had tinned tomatoes which I don't really like. The tinned toms and beans added to the slop factor and the rest was greasy rubbish.

I'm with you. I cannot see how it is at all an 'English' breakfast. And eating it five days running...couldn't think of anything worse. We have done road trips through Ireland staying at B&B's and I've taken the 'Full Irish' two days running at the most but never every single morning. A boiled or scrambled egg with toast, some nice hot porridge, good quality yoghurts, different cereals to what I'd normally have at home, choice of breads for toast with homemade spreads, local honey and hot chocolate as an option...that's the type of breakfast menu I'd be happy with

You are right about France. I have never lived there, but have visited many times. I love the slightly sweetened breakfast baguettes they have too. |

I think they usually go for the 'full monty' as its a good test of the kitchen and also a useful bench mark for comparing different places.
I did notice one place last week had a nice looking bit of smoked haddock which would be my go to choice if available. I'm sure we've done beans on the plate vs beans in a ramkin loads in the past ![]() And IIRC I'm in the small camp of those who actually prefer tinned tomatoes to fresh ![]() Machine tea is the devils' spew though

LOL me too. She was cooking the bacon before they had really sat down lol, so it was just being cooked and put in oven alongside the rest of it.

Absolutely: I truly didn't care for the remark "well, if they don't like it, they know where the door is .. ". Really? If they do know where the door is are they expected to pay for their stay if they do "go through the door". Apart from this remark being crass, it was stupid, who would want to stay with her after hearing that ..

![]() its sad as what they say on camera people do listen. These contestants simply dont learn do they. I expect it was just bravado, but throw away comments like that can last a long time. |

Totally off this week's programmes. I just got next week's tele mag, and next Thursday FIAB is at the Fritton Arm Norfolk. That is literally 2 miles down the road from me. It is on the Somerleyton Estate, which is owned by a real Lord! Who runs the place I don't know, but this will be interesting for me if no-one else on this thread.

Absolutely nothing about last nights venue and hosts were exactly my taste but I thought it looked clean and decent enough value if you were looking for a cheap and cheerful seaside holiday. We've certainly seen a heck of a lot worse.
