I had similar thoughts about Cissie and Ada or the Roly Polys. Except that they are the unfunny version!

It's a bit of a catch 22 by the sound of it. They're not making money, so they don't have the money to fix or upgrade on a rolling programme. It becomes harder to catch up for those big old seaside places.
Most people these days expect good water pressure in their bathroom though and updated fixtures etc., so if it's not attended to their reviews and bookings will soon begin to reflect those kind of issues.

I know what you mean.
Did you also see that they commented on the lack of tinned tomatoes today? despite refusing them when they were offered the other day. So contrary.”

Contrary? How very polite.

Are they really cankles? Her ankles look really swollen and puffy. Or maybe they are cankles that are swollen and puffy!

Well, that's me. I try and accompany my honesty with kindness, you never know who might be reading

The first time I heard the term was when someone said Michelle Keegan has cankles. So I thought it meant not having a clearly defined ankles but not swollen and puffy

I think you are most probably right though.

Watching late as usual......how can anyone rub at marks in/on a toilet with their fingers,

Had no sympathy for Helen when she was feeling sorry for herself at dinner re Louise's comments, Louise was obviously just joking with her and Helen has been saying much more horrible things about Louise and others.

It's going to seem like I'm picking on Helen but she just keeps on giving......
Please could someone explain to her that eye shadow goes on the eyelids not only under the eyes

I don't normally comment on people's looks but I just can't help myself on this occasion.

Helen looks like Lesley from Benidorm

Well I can predict the winner now - it will be the Kings Head because they have underpaid everyone else, thinking they are so clever and getting one over on the true winners - Louise and Andy.

How can I tell - that snippet of Louise saying "that's harsh!" To Helen, and Terri s comments afterwards. Indicate a mass e underpayment to Beck Hall.

In terms of value for money - the clean simple styling and comfort of the Beck Hall rooms, and the quality of their food offerings for the price they charge they are unbeatable!

My theory is that he wears the hats as a sort of makeshift crash helmet, to protect his head from being pierced by chandeliers wherever he goes

yes these fry ups are not the healthiest of breakfasts, but because i don't have them anymore - I have to visualise them instead.
......and of course boozy Christmas cake is a really healthy option!

I agree I love art deco, and was disappointed that it wasn't followed through. There was a lovely art deco headboard in one room and a 70's looking one in another.

Anton Du Beke, my favourite SCD professional.

I thought those throws were a really bad idea, how well do they wash? And how often? One of them must take up the space in an average washing machine - and not even art deco in style

I so agree, thats why FIAB is not as good. That place last night was 45 rooms, full of staff. How can you pitch it with any of the others? Its a nonsense.

LOL HD, i wouldnt be surprised.

No i think what it is she doesnt like the sausages with herbs in. My husband is the same. I cant buy any with any touch of herbs he said they taste like mould, not that i know what mould would taste like. HOWEVER, he calls them spicey. So I wonder if that was what she meant?

BUT she had to find fault though didnt she. The breafast looked fab everything you need there was supplied.

Yes i loved the place, the Art Deco room would have been my choice of rooms. I love that period of furniture and styles and anything ornamental, then I suppose like others have said its for pensioners lol, me being one ha ha. BUT even if I wasnt I would still go there to dance, and enjoy Bournemouth.

I thought the place was well run, and the breakfast looked good to me. HOWEVER, no way could it be pitched with places like Beck Hall. GET A GRIP Four in a bed producers what are you doing.......?

As to Fabio, he was simply FABULOUS lol....cor blige......

Well Beck Hall is the winner for me, but as we know from the way this tends to pan out they will probably come last.

They're sticking to the original and theoretically still applying brief of the concept, to judge the place on value for money, not to compare, say, a back street b&b with a hotel on the Yorkshire moors. Where they go wrong, if that's what people think they do, is in selecting contestants who couldn't grasp the concept if it was nailed to the floor in front of them with 'Judge on value for money not comparison with yours or whether you'd spend that much normally' in flashing lights, or who are so hell bent on getting air time that they are happy to make idiots of themselves. Some weeks three of the four manage to understand it perfectly well - there might even have been some weeks where everyone understood what they were meant to be doing played fair, although I can't bring any to mind atm. But as with the silly games, obviously included to ramp up any existing tension having created it on the first day, the production team apparently decided early on that letting most people play it this way is more entertaining.

And from the amount of discussion it generates, they're right!

Good post, I agree with every word. But what effect does a harmonious group judging each other and their establishments fairly have on the viewing figures? It does seem that the old adage of people will say a bad word over a good word is very much the case. How sad

I absolutely adore Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles. But these are very unforgiving styles where uou have to go to town with it- and that means luxury, gold and excellent craftsmanship. You can't just stick a headboard and some silly 20's style print in a room and call that Art Deco.

Have you been to Latvia? The capital is full of gorgeous Art Nouveau buildings.

No havent been to Latvia. I agree with you though. I loved the headboard, but the rest didnt match and to be honest not quite sure what the Fred Flintstone throws were doing on the beds lol.

Yes i love the 20s style but i dont have a house that would work well with it.

I do have some lovely ornaments though and lights which I have found car booting and i treasure them, but your right you have to keep the setting throughout the theme. x

I quite liked last night place, would do for a couple of nights, seemed clean enough, and I couldn't see anything wrong with breakfast.
I prefer Hotel to B&B in someones home, personal preference.
