Because it's cooked in England, is full of odd food combinations and leaves you feeling full?
I really don't know. It's obviously a standard meal in more countries than England so I'm not sure why it's called English. I thought the FM that raised the subject might know.

Chicken, pork and apple? Bleaurghh.

Oooh the eggs look lovely. So bright and yellow.
Thats how a real egg is, free ranged in my back garden. I have bantams they lay the most beautiful yellow sunny eggs with the perfect yolk. The supermarket caged eggs are pale in comparison.

When i break open one of our eggs i need sunglasses on....

I was not enamoured by tonight's place. Very dated, not in a good way and the bathroom accessories made me cringe.

When did frozen hash browns become part of a 'Cornish' breakfast?
It was DIRE but clean.

My pet hate is when the camera shows the room the DUVET covers are always crinkled like someone sat on them, and in the boys room OMG it drove me insane........ that side board cupboard thing in the middle of the bed was not in the center between the two beds, arrrgggghhhh yes i do have a touch of OCD I think, but it really annoys me.

They are presenting a room...... nearly every time the beds are crinkly its so irritating. (Note to self get a life).

Hash browns are an American addition and for me disgusting... if you want potato with your breakfast you might as well have chips.

I get suss when the hosts dither like this....it makes you wonder if they are bona-fide B&Bers at all. Its like they are taking orders for the first time in their life.
To be fair, picture the amount of people in that room, the crew with cameras, action roll them.... she is an older lady and I think i would feel intimidated with all that going on.

My daughter just said- if she's cooked, she should know by now whether something is overcooked.
Exactly and the sausages were black.....

Yes chickens obviously corn fed and hopefully organic saying that mum said when chickens lay their first egg they bleed and feel pain so hope those chooks were ok.
my chickens are not corn fed, and believe me their eggs are sunny and strong.

Hens may feel a little discomfort when they lay their first egg but its not considered painful like when we give birth.....

When hens are laying eggs, the eggs come out very soft, and as they are being laid, the hen releases a tiny amount of slimey lubricant to help the egg through the vent then the egg shell gets hard when exposed to the air.
Its not adviseable to actually eat a fresh egg i.e. boiled as its almost impossible to peel it.....believe me i have tried.

When a hen lays her first egg its classed as a PULLET egg and will be quite small, she might have a tiny bit of blood left on the shell BUT i have never had one with blood on them, but her vent soon stretches and it doesnt usually happen again, even older hens who have been laying for months can lay with a tiny bit of blood on egg shells. The chickens system is designed to lay eggs...that is what they do and its like a little factory internally.... and the opening is shared with the digestive system and bowel. When the egg is due to come out of the vent, a little flap of skin covers the digestive area so no fecal matter contaminates the egg....how neat is that...?

When they have laid their egg, some breeds get off the nest and go out will make a right old racket squawking and shouting so loud its worse then any cockerel..... and some people misinterpret this as pain.

The theory to that is she is protecting her egg by moving away from it and distracting predators from the nest itself and focusing their attention to her instead to keep her egg safe.

Ooops sorry forgot i was on FIAB for a minute, chicken keeping is my passion.

Why is it called a full English breakfast?
http://englishbreakfastsociety.com/f...breakfast.html

It originated in England and started with the gentry in their large mansions.......

Great excitement in our house when watching last night - they were on 'our' beach and 'our' pub!! They're very lucky to have lovely Polkerris and the Rashleigh within 10 minutes of where they live.

Thought the B&B itself was fine. Yes, it was dated but the guests clearly are made to feel welcome and comfortable and, really, that's the main thing you want in a B&B.

She's only 62 for heaven's sake and she has been doing it for 14 years - she herself mentioned she is the oldest (although personally I have my doubts) and the most experienced, the others only having been in "the business" a short time.

Calm down, she is an older lady I said, at 62, I am an older lady and I am 64. I would find it very intimidating having all that crew around me and trying to cook.

No need for the heavens sake jeez.....

Yes I am very lucky. I have 19 beautiful bantam girls some for a few years now, and they are a joy to keep. They are so intelligent several of them come into the kitchen through the dog flap.... trying to steal the cat food, naughty girls.

Brilliant! You certainly know your chooks! Mum used to have chickens when she was growing up she was the one who told me about the egg laying business thanks for explaining so well.

I love chickens too and my brother in law used to have 3, all great characters, but sadly one by one they died

I noticed a couple of times. I don't think she's an early morning person, or, they had a heavy night the night before

Do they crack their own eggs into a pan and scramble them with their tail feathers also? If so, I would seriously consider doing BGT next year.
