For tea? A couple of cheese sandwiches.

For beef stew, do you believe in browning the meat first, or not?

My mum never browned it first and her stews were epic.

Not made one in ages

There is an entire huge jar of Penny Mix here. We are scoffing cola bottles, fried eggs, jelly babies, foamy shrimps et al!

What's your fave penny sweet?

I remember the name but doubt I was here to have one

The Homemade Stew - I had on Sunday @2pm was made by my friend - and they are always so delish
I had mine with :-
sliced beetroot - pickled red cabbage
& a few chunks of generously buttered french stick

If I make it I do a **bit** of browning - but I doubt it makes much difference

What do you have with yours ?

I don't usually have anything else with stew as it has everything with it, but what you have just said you have with yours sounds very good.

Which of these days do you like best, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day?

I've no idea, as I don't know him personally. He's an excellent sportsman and decent role model for youngsters wanting to play tennis though.

Mint humbug or bah humbug??

Yes, I always do. As you say, it's the shortest day today. Tomorrow it will be 14 years since my mum died. I can't believe that all that time has gone by.

Have you had many cards this year?

Neither!

(Out of 11 cats between us, past and present, not one has ever paid any attention to the Christmas tree's. I'm so deprived and disappointed in them)

If you could have one thing for Christmas, what would it be?

You must have very sedate cats, Moose!

Weetabix or Shredded Wheat?

As I need to wear glasses, I hate them (having to wear two pairs is pretty heavy on the nose).

Can you believe that there are some businesses that have already shut up shop for Christmas?

If you are operating large and expensive machinery then it can be very expensive to be switching it off then on again for a short period so for some in manufacturing it makes sense to stop production for a week and get the festive period over with. Happened when I worked in a huge bakery and when I worked for Ford

Didn't make it to Star Wars, hoping to go tomorrow

Best TV show of 2015??
