I don't panic but I don't enjoy it. I can't wait for the journey to be over. I gritted me teeth and scooted through Kings Cross today through to St Pancras for the train to Canterbury...it was heaving with people with whopping cases and bags of presents trying to get from A to B. I avoid rush hour like the plague

Crowded pub or restaurant with one other group eating?

Restaurant with one other group eating. The cinema was awesome as I grabbed the seat I wanted and generally avoided kids... though the child reading the script at the beginning aloud was fun until her Da shushed her

Were your parent embarrassing??

Dad was Mum kind of blended nicely in to the other mums. Dad was a one off

I have to say the older I get the less tolerant I am of other folks kids. Mainly due to them being loud, ill mannered, entitled and arrogant little shits! My own granddaughters can behave exactly thus. It would never have been tolerated when I was a kid. Parents ruled the world in those days.

But now it's all about the kids, right?

Sadly so, can't be easy being a parent in the modern age though

Did you regularly discipline your children??

I used to be complimented on how well my kids behaved in public. They weren't as good at home, but they knew there would be punishment unless there was perfect behaviour when out. I wasn't a smacker, but I knew what worked with mine. Banishment to his room [no telly or any sort of computer in it] for my son, removal of fave toys with my daughter. As babies I ignored them if they behaved badly and lavished attention when they were good. They learned early on how to get what they really wanted, which was attention My son only had a couple of tantrums [I stepped over him and walked away] and daughter never tried it

They also had to do chores and earn treats. And I mean REALLY earn them!

Same upbringing I had myself only minus the regular slappings and whackings with stick in the cupboard Were you corporally punished?

Never.

I got my arse smacked twice. One of them wasn't even my fault !!!!! My parents were very relaxed and laid back. Not to the point we could run riot (not till our teens anyway ) We just knew how to behave and my mum often got complimented on how well behaved we were, especially when we were out

What's your worst habit?

Naturally!! It's the ROOLS! They need to be sitting in a pool of bread sauce flanked by wedges of stuffing. With a dollop of cranberry goo.

Do you put a sprig of rosemary in with your roasties?

I'm under strict instructions not to even buy a carrot off one brother moose as he has it all under control (This coming from the one who every Xmas Eve without fail will suddenly shit that he hasn't got anything bought or done come 3.55pm )

But I am popping to Tesco's later () for Moggy food and will produce our traditional sweetie bowl which needs to be put out days in advance but not touched until Xmas Eve evening !!!

Traditional crimbo pud or summat nice and edible ??

Son is apparently having a mini pud to himself [that's if anything is left when he does the shopping after work tonight ] and he's getting some sort of other pud for myself and DIL.

I know he's also getting cheese and crackers and frankly that will do me, nom noms!!

If he fails in the cheese department I am going to the Farmer's Market tomorrow morning for my bread and can get in some local specialities.

Are you familiar with your local cheeses?

I don't. I'm ignorant to anything out there beyond a regular Red Leicester and nice mild white cheddar

What's your favourite cheese???

Oh MOOSE! You haven't lived!!! Whilst a nice Red Leicester is very tasty, mild cheddar tastes like wallpaper paste You want a double mature cheddar strong enough to rip the skin off your palate, and a Stilton likewise....a creamy, ripe Brie or Camembert should have a powerful tang and my local cheeses, Canterbury Cobble and Ashmore are full of flavour. I also love Nordic cheeses, usually the Jarlsbergs or mature Edam type ones with holes. I could witter on about cheese for hours. Wallace has nothing on me

Are you a fan of Wensleydale?

Hell no. I absolutely hate mature cheese. It's like eating vomit
I have a very delicate palate

The most adventurous I ever got was trying some feta. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it.

Never tried Wensleydale

You would get on very well with Sensible Dave

How many almonds did you have left by bedtime last night?

Actually half the tin, but only cos I opened a massive bag of cheese and onion crisps

Oh man!! The cheeses you are missing out on!! Never tried Wensleydale??? That one's a mild, pale, crumbly and delicate cheese as well. I'm a cheese monster, I likes ALL cheeses except factory produced mild ones. All the aroma of an elderly washing up glove. About the same level of flavour.

Fave chutters or pickle to have with your cheese?

I smelt enough of them when I worked in a restaurant. It's up there with fish for me. Pah!

I don't do pickles or chutneys either. I'm an awkward customer

Fave dessert?
