Aside from that, I'd have been a baby. The first time I flew solo was when I was about ten or eleven (maybe twelve?!) to visit my Mum's family in Ireland. Got treated like a little Prince on the flight, which was nice, and I was a bit of a charmer as a kid, so I had the air-hostesses eating out of my hand!! (OK, I'm probably over-exaggerating, but it was an enjoyable trip).

What was the last thing to make you awestruck?”

Went out for a walk and saw my first English winter sunset in thirteen years, overlooking the Manchester city skyline, with all the towns around it. Absolutely stunning. Also stood on frosted grass for the first time in as many years, and the crunch made me a bit giddy. Some beautiful parks and reserves around these parts. They always make me awestruck with their beauty.

I know that sounds really wanky, but I've rather enjoyed being caught up in all this nostalgia.

Earliest memory?

I can remember lying in my pram outside the front door of the house, looking at the white fringing on the sun canopy swinging in the breeze.

> this was for previous question That would have been the Fields of the Nephilim gig I went to just before the festives. Carl still looks EXACTLY THE SAME as he did 30 years ago And they were awesomes!

Will I be awestruck when I finally get to see the new Star Wars?

Everyone I have spoken to loved it, I was very much of the hating turning to 'meh'... worth seeing on the big screen though

noodkleopatra - Falling out of a high-chair and eating my first Mars bar as a treat from the babysitter afterwards

Always wanted to visit Manchester... would I like it??

Canal Street rocks! Not seen much of the rest of it though. Splint's sister lived there.

Favourite regional British accent?

It's definitely worth a visit. One thing I can't get past is the amount of homeless people (it's just heart-breaking) and the litter around the suburbs. I've only been here a few months, but I enjoy it for the Gay Village alone.

I definitely think Manchester will get better and better as the years go on and it gets bigger and bigger. But there's some stunning old buildings about, so that always makes me happy.

Which activity gives you the greatest happiness?

Haha, beat me to it!!

Favourite regional British accent. Aberdeen. Heard some blind woman talking on the radio when I was about thirteen about music. She used words like "rhythm", "arithmetic", and "reverb". The way she said her "r"s made me melt.

Listening to music, preferably live, is most pleasurable.

Eating delicious food and getting into bed when the lecky blanket's been on come a close second

What do you find most pleasurable? Keep it clean

Used to be the morning cigarette and coffee. Then it was that feeling of being in love. Now, it's probably that feeling when you hear a song you haven't heard in years and years and years that evokes all sorts of memories. I once spent about five years trying to find out this song I heard on the radio (turned out to be Blackbox's 'Ride on Time'), and couldn't for the life of me get it.

They played it at a Gay Club on my birthday. Greatest birthday gift. Listened to it religiously for about a year afterwards!

Or, that feeling when you're on a creative high, and your creativity just seems to flow and never hits that horrid block.

Wow, extensive answer, sorry!

What skill do you wish you had?

I'd love to be a PROPER artist. I can draw, and always been sort of arty, but I know I don't have real talent.

What is your greatest achievement?

Sadly not

Heard from Mrs Teapot??

Do you brew in the mug or do you pour from a teapot??
twassington
04-01-2016
Both. If just me, a mug, if I have company, a pot.

I spoke to Mrs T earlier on the book of faces

Ever tasted 100% dark chocolate?

Probably not.

Have you ever dropped a chunk of choccie into the chile con carne as per the Sainsbury's advert?
twassington
04-01-2016
Yes, I always put dark choc into chilli. Improves the flavour and texture no end.

What other weird food tips do you know?

An interpolation in the smooth progress of the Q&A.

How much chocolate and what cocoa content?
twassington
04-01-2016
At least 70% and if cooking for two portions, two squares is enough. Overdo it and your chilli goes rather weird and tastes funny

What was your fave sweet as a child?

Long before my time, I'm afraid!

I do remember some chocolate by Cabury's that were little chocolately crisp balls... Astros I think they were called!

And Mars "Magic Stars"! Our kid and I saved all the packets in order to get the little statue toys of all the Magic Stars characters.

Oh, they were the days. I also collected all the Walkers Spice Girls crisp packets. Had the whole set a few times over. Mum chucked 'em all away, and we saw a full set going on ebay for about a grand! I was gutted.

What is your favourite ever chocolate bar?

EDIT: Just re-read, and saw it was already asked!!!

So - what is your favourite ever non-chocolatey treat?
silentNate
