It won't be leap year Monday again until 2044!

Yes, when they are Bank Holidays!

What would you be doing if you were not currently on DS?

Taking a break from gaming so I'd probably be in the middle of another game

Do you ever play video games??
twassington
08-01-2016
These days, never. PC is far too old now, plus I don't know when I'd ever have time!!

I saw a bit of that documentary on loneliness and my heart went out to those people. I guess I am just better able to live on my own than some. I'm always perfectly content...but then I do see and speak to others on a daily basis one way or another often literally all day - but so did some of the younger folk who seemed to work in busy offices. Being an only child I had to entertain myself when young and I guess I never lost the knack

Muesli or granola?
silentNate
08-01-2016
Muesli.

Are cities lonelier than the countryside??
twassington
08-01-2016
Yes I think they could be. You don't expect there to be many folks in the rural far flung places after all. Just spent 15 mins gossiping to the Farmer as I found a posh mobile phone in the lane and took it to the farmhouse in case one of the workers had dropped. Even living here I get to chat to peeps. Always natter to the old dude next door if about as well. I don't think he or I are the sort to get lonely. He's always as merry as a lark.

Had fish, chips and mushy peas for lunch in Whitstable! It was blooming gorgeous. When did you last have fish n chips at the seaside?

MMMmmmmmm Sounds so good

Trying to recall - It may have been - a few years ago - after a vet appointment
and I think we drove to maybe Talacre ? Beach -afterwards or somewhere near there
to a beach with a lighthouse
so her doggies could have their first visit to a beach and paddle with us in the water
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Fish n chips were bought at the start of the drive home >>>> and eaten in the car after being at the Beach - with Sis's doggies
I have just remembered that the lighthouse seemed like it was a residence because when we were there - we saw several people drive over - in a couple of cars
and all go up inside it - with boxes of stuff
Have you had very bright sunshine all morning - where you have been today ?
08-01-2016
I've been to Whitstable and it was the most glorious sunshine, still is, blue skies, calm sea, I went on the beach and round all the charity shops. All I bought in the end was two bananas and some brown rice and Hibiscus tea in the healthfood shop. It was smashing
Much colder weather on the way so best to enjoy it while it;s here, right?
silentNate
What warmer weather?? London has been cold
How often do you shave??
twassington
08-01-2016
Well assuming you mean the bits ladies shave....at this time of year not often Well who's gonna see? How often do you shave the bits men shave?
silentNate
08-01-2016
I don't shave my face or anywhere else
My face is very itchy though and I really need to give the beard a trim
Doesn't stoatie have a beard??
Do you like your men clean-shaven??
twassington
08-01-2016
No, I like face fungus. Stoatie currently has Lemchops unless he shaved 'em off
Don't you let the beard grow and put a ring round it?
silentNate
08-01-2016
Nah, too itchy. I had a long beard once but it made eating a nightmare and I got some horrible faux cream in it (?buttercream) which stank so I shaved it off!
What's for dinner??
twassington
08-01-2016
Having had fish n chips earlier, albeit a child's portion [which was quite big enough for lunch] it shall be toast, with hummus on it. Mainly cos the hummus needs finishing. I'd rather have cheese on toast tbh!
Which of the two would you choose?
silentNate
08-01-2016
Cheese on toast with Marmite
You eat hummous with pita bread but I don't suppose country bumpkins know that
Do you like garlic sauce on a kebab??
I love garlic sauce!
I have no pitta bread and no ham, so that ain't gonna happen
Last custard was well before Christmas, when mini twass brought the BF and we had crumble.
I've never heard of them! Is it a scallop wrapped in mash, battered and fried?
ChoccyCarole
08-01-2016
No they are just a Large 1 - to 2cm ? Thick Slice of a Raw Potato
then each one is dunked in a thick Batter [ like they use for Coating the Fish ]
then they are deep fried - till golden and crispy
then seasoned with a bit of salt
if requested - they put a squirt of tomato sauce on top -
I think they charged £1-20 for 4 of these in a white polystyrene tray
I got a bag of chips as they were better value @ £1-30 for a stack of ** yummy hot off the press chips **
all wrapped in big sheets of white paper with salt vinegar and tomato sauce
Fancy some of this sort of **Potato Scallops** ?
silentNate
