Eight

We chose our colour door from the council - a lovely Tardis blue

How often do you use a text message rather than speaking face-to-face??
twassington
22-01-2016
Not often but more often than I call anyone. I don't like phones

I'd rather chat to real folks. My son, DIL and the dogs will arrive shortly, just put the brownies in the oven and the fish and spinach cheesy bake just needs cooking.

Sound good?
silentNate
22-01-2016
Oh yes... I love spinach and cheese together

Is David Bowie a 'legend'?? Will he be remember in hundreds of years??
twassington
22-01-2016
I actually think he will. After all not only was he a musician spanning six decades with some very varied music, he also impacted fashion and gender roles and appeared in many films, a couple of them considered classics.

If you had the money, would you want a second holiday home, and if so where would it be? Or would you spend that money doing something else?
silentNate

A holiday home in Barbados would be nice... if it were close enough to Cliff Richard's pad then even you might visit; after all you are always in London but never arrange to meet

Where would you have a holiday home??

Cala Llonga, Ibiza..... going in may !

You ?

L'État, c'est moi.

Can you supply a favourite quote?
silentNate

All right, look-you're a roofer, and some juicy government contract comes your way; you got the wife and kids and the two-story in suburbia - this is a government contract, which means all sorts of benefits. All of a sudden these left-wing militants blast you with lasers and wipe out everyone within a three-mile radius. You didn't ask for that. You have no personal politics. You're just trying to scrape out a living.

Source??

Er...is it Die Hard?? No clue really!

Is it a whole load warmer where you are?
silentNate
23-01-2016
I'm at work and it's boiling hot!! Might go outside for fresh air!

The quote was from Clerks!

Favourite song lyrics??

Ones written by Justin Sullivan of NMA

Survived the cat meeting, now to hoover my son's dogs off the cottage

Ever tried olive oil on toast? Not very nice....just thought I would give it a go
silentNate
23-01-2016
Never tried it, doesn't sound appealing

Last time you had a crisp sarnie??
twassington
23-01-2016
With my grandchildren last summer.

One and a half rooms de-haired....having a breather! How often do you take your sofa apart and hoover it out?

I made a cover out of curtain material so furryness does not get past that

Using my new & fabulous Huawei white mobile phone that I set up last night with carphone warehouse in Curry's YAY!!!! Is cheaper than my EE & almost useless Nokia Lumia
Will be collecting my repaired P/Bell Easynote lappy later today and the Kindle Fire I ordered last night @ Curry's / 7" £49-99 - am paying extra for set up and a tutorial to get the most out of it
& got antivirus for half price deal > only because of buying a tablet

Thanks very much for your suggestions yesterday xxxx

Have you got cold gusty damp weather this afternoon?
silentNate
23-01-2016
Not that windy but wet and cold

Going out this evening??
twassington
23-01-2016
Not tonight Josephine

I shall light the fire, stay indoors and eat leftovers.

How about you, anything planned?

EDIT: You have the same Kindle Fire as me Choccy, it's very useful and great when you are away, you will soon get the hang of it. I just fiddled with mine til it worked.

My only plan Later is to go out to collect my techie stuff

Yes Twassy I saw it and thought it was the same as your Kindle fire
I have never had anyone set up my stuff before or had any tutorials since I got my first P/Bell Stack / flat screen Desktop On 16th of October 2003 -
but I think it will be a half hour well spent on my first ever tutorial

I can hear Rosie snorning to my left - beside me on the settee & her tummy doing little gurgles
the tick tock of my battery wall clocks x 2 and the Buzzzzzzzy drone sound of my Tv as the volume tuned right down and
the gusty winds outside /behind me / and a light aircraft going by

What sounds can you hear right now ?
twassington
23-01-2016
Absolutely nothing except a passing farm vehicle from time to time, distant birdsong, and my fingers tap tapping away Glorious!

The cow they had in the barn nearby that had been bellowing day and night has thankfully shurrup this afternoon. It was so loud last night my sons dogs ran amok every time it mooed!!!

Do you use Bookbub for free and discounted ebooks?
silentNate
23-01-2016
No, never heard of it

Don't you prefer paperbacks??
tanstaafl
23-01-2016
Once upon a time. I'm an ebook person now.

In front of me I have a paperback priced at 25p. What would you consider a fair price for a paperback nowadays?
twassington
23-01-2016
£7.99. Much as I love real books, there are so many freebie ebooks to be had! And GOOD ones at that. And you can blow the print up if your elderly eyes are having trouble

How often do you use Skype?
tanstaafl
23-01-2016
Extremely rarely. After setting it up on PC, tablet & phone I belatedly realised that I don't actually know many Skype users!

Does not being on any social media (social medium?) make you a case for concern?
silentNate
23-01-2016
Asking the wrong person. Other than Steam I belong to no social media

Do you think that??
twassington
24-01-2016
I certainly don't. Social media are life suckers If I didn't have to keep an eye on the cat page I'd not go on FB anywhere near as much.

Is the internet really made of cats?
silentNate
24-01-2016
I suspect so!! It is powered by gerbils and hamsters though

Have you seen the news about East Coast USA being closed by snow and thought, 'how terribly English'??
