Oddly enough yesterday. I hadn't had any meat for about ten days prior.....

I expect it was years ago for you, Nate.

Is there anything you no longer eat for whatever reason?

Meat. For moral, economic and environmental reasons

Do you think cutting down use of plastic will make any difference to the future of the environment??

Yes it should do, more natural packaging substances biodegrade a lot more easily. Things like plastic coat hangers...how much more expensive would wooden ones be? Surely not a lot.

You'd think all supermarkets and shops could provide brown paper shopping bags like Primark does. Why don't they?

Ha! Got a lovely Ben Sherman paper bag when shopping. I'm used to paper bags from shopping in the US so surprised they haven't caught on here

Do you put your Lidl shopping in a Waitrose bag or similar??

All my Morrison's shopping mostly ends up in my Huge Lidl carrier bag
and a few other slightly smaller bags -

I have never even seen a Waitrose shop / or any of their bags or food items

Have you got any near you and have you shopped in any of them ??

Morrison's is my nearest
then next nearest is Asda
Then Lidls -
Then Tesco's
Then Sainsbury's - which used to be my local store for 10 years

Just checked >> Waitrose online
Nearest one is over 12 miles away
There is one near my Sister in Chester and she could get a home delivery where she lives

Ever food shopped in M&S ??

Once or twice in my youth. Not been to M&S in years and doubt I would bother. Haven't their clothes gone downhill??

No idea, I never look....I'm too young to wear M&S things

Crisp white frost here, very pretty Better weather to have logs delivered in than rain! At least I will stack 'em dry even if me hands fall off from the cold

Do you have a tendency to exaggerate?

I try not to; too often there are people who take what you say at face value or deliberately misinterpret things

The Sun has now had two huge headlines attacking those who would have us stay in Europe. Do we think Murdoch is trying to influence public opinion or open up debate??

Oh Nathaniel! SURELY not! As if he would do such a thing

*rolleyes*

Why are folks still stupid enough to believe all they read in the paper or see on the news?

I don't think the education system in this country values the importance of having a discerning and inquisitive mind

Ever thought about going to live abroad??

Briefly, but never seriously.

Anyway, Twass can't talk about believing what she reads. Just last week she came across a road sign that said drawbridge so she spent an hour drawing a picture of a bridge.

Do you take some things too literally.

Apparently so ......

The older I gets the less it happens tbh. As a young person I was told gullible was my middle name and Naive was the first but life has taught me a few sharp lessons along the way and I'm a cautious old curmudgeon now ......

Were we all a lot more innocent back in the 70s and 80s?

I think so, it was a time of conflict though and taking sides in industrial disputes where there is still a lot of ill-feeling

Do you remember the 3 Day Week??

Of course, and the coal miners strike and all the power cuts, vividly. The women of Greenham common who I wanted to be like, the protests, marches, union strikes etc. I was a member of Unison all the years I worked for the council although I have to say they were useless when I was made redundant. I fought my own battle there and my rep actually suggested I got a job with them since I won against the bosses and got a lot more dosh out of them than I was offered originally! She suggested I was in the wrong career! Had I not had a frail elderly mum and a sick partner and a sick DIL at the time I could maybe have gone that route...

Do you sometimes wonder how life would have been had you chosen a different path?

If I hit the dance floor at the moment I wouldn't be able to get back up.

I'm not up to date on the latest dance tracks. Do you recommend any?

Get those arthritic hips gyrating!!

Just done two hours of gardening. I now feel about 103. And I am not done yet, out I go!!

Don't you like to get things done while the sun shines?

It's raining here.

My dad says the rain makes his arthritis worse. As I don't have arthritis, touch wood, I don't know if this is the general case. Is there truth in my dads assertion.

That song's quite good by the way.

Ask Emma Thompson.

What's your favourite Emma Thompson movie (if you have one).
