Had smooches On our buses - with my 3 driver boyfriend/s [ over those - 8-9 years - ]
and before that same - in the car on the way to selling Encyclopedias with my Canadian b/f

Lat night I had a power cut during the night for some unknown reason
All was fine when I went to bed but >>
Woke up and Noticed it at about 5-am this morning -
because the house was strangely dark and quiet

I then saw one button was proud in the meter cupboard
so one push and all was OK again
The street light was still on and houses over my back fence had indoor lights on

Ever mysteriously happened to you during the night ??
twassington
25-02-2016
Mysterious things have happened to me during the night but they weren't power cuts.

The stationery cupboard......yes. The smoking hut [not that I ever smoked].....yes. My boss's office while they were in a meeting .....perhaps I'd better stop there

Red onions, golden onions or shallots?
ChoccyCarole
25-02-2016
awwww xxxx

I like them ** all ** and have all 3 on my veg tray right now
and a big storage container full to the brim with all 3 types
including 4 JUMBO sized white ones [ golden skinnned ]

I prefer red in my many salads

your preference ??
silentNate
25-02-2016
Golden onions for cooking (they are Spanish onions right??) and red onions for salad

Best use for shallots??
ChoccyCarole
25-02-2016
Because I bought a big bag of them for 19p - I am using them in anything that needs some onion

the last thing was a couple of days ago when I made some chicken soup using that Salter
soup maker and ALL the bones from those 5 large 99p roasted chickens

I then added :-

4 plump shallots
2 cloves of garlic
Slice of fresh ginger
1 home dried Red Chilli
Celery
green capsicum
White pepper
a medium carrot
an lastly a bag of M&S pea shoot salad [ reduced to 19p ]
and some water
When cooked 25 minutes later
I poured it out through a strainer into various ** Sistema bowls **
skimming off any oilyness off the surface
but pulled out all the carrot coins to add to the end result

I had the last big mug full today = T'was Yummy !!!!
Using 2 thick toasted slices of a Large Tiger Cheese Loaf [ 9p ]
cut on the diagonal to get longer slices
- generously spread with M&S Houmous -

TO DUNK IN the Soup = like yummy toasty soldiers yum !!!!!

How about your usage of them ??
twassington
25-02-2016
I put shallots in curries and stews but usually use a yellow/golden onion as well. Red for salads and roasting with other veg!

Has Bowwis REALLY built record numbers of affordable homes in London??
silentNate
25-02-2016
No, he has built homes but you are looking at a huge amount of gentrification and 'homes' for rent

Shallots?? Not keen, sorry

Do you like courgettes??
twassington
25-02-2016
I love them in all their forms The best way for me is to cut them into batons, shake them in a bag with some seasoned flour to coat them then shallow fry in hot olive oil til golden brown. Serve with a sprinkle of lemon juice....lush!!

How do you like them best?
silentNate
25-02-2016
Ratatouille!

Apparently it shouldn't be cooked with half a kilo of crushed chillies and paprika but that is how I like it!

Do you like it??
