has been very mild and sunny here all day

I do like semolina
Years ago I began to to make a batch - every single night - using over a pint of whole milk for me and my partner -
that and jam and ALL My usual **very big meals**
>>>>>> helped me get up to 12 stones

Till I was so shocked -- that I got back down to under 10 stones in a very short time
[ in a bout 3 weeks ] - by not eating such things at night
and just walking more - rather than catch a bus to do my shopping -
and briskly walking the 15 minutes to get home from my friends - rather than her driving me each time

@5'6" I was ALWAYS 9st - 2lb maximum -
week after week for umpteen years without ever ever worrying about calories -
and I ate like a horse all those years and I never even thought I was particularly slim

Right now I am watching TV -
A woman in USA on those shows A year to save my life
- she used to be a gymnast but now as a 44 year old Mother
whose 2 girls have now left home -
- Georgeana weighs 315 lbs / over 22stones -7lbs

Have you ever watched such shows ??
twassington
05-03-2016
Yes I've watched a few, and am amazed at the size of some of the Americans Some can barely walk and only in their 40s. The programmes show their normal diets and what they like eating and it's very clear how they got so big. And the portion sizes!!!!

Often there is a dramatic weight loss but I sometimes wonder, when the cameras stop rolling do the pounds go straight back on?
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
I wonder about that too

I must get Another big stock up of those slim rice slim pasta slim noodles
when H&B have that offer of buy one get one free

I have ONLY done 444 steps so far today [ 444 Is showing right now on my Purple Vivofit wrist strap pedometer ]
............. by just walking to and from the kitchen - quite a few times

How many steps do you think you have done so far today ??
twassington
05-03-2016
Maybe 6-700 but no more. Not been out today but have done a lot of housework!

Do you mainly eat with just a fork or knife and fork, or spoon, or chopsticks?
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
I just use a fork - at home -
If eating out I may need a knife sometimes
I never use a knife when I eat a meal at home - I would cut food up if need be before I sit down

I would use a spoon here - if eating rice / or soupy combos

How about you ??

edit here is way to get the link to the woman on the Obsese show on TV now

I only eat with a fork - it's the American way I occasionally use chopsticks or spoons but rarely eat with a knife

Do you own a spork??
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
I had a brand new set of Sporks in Sydney =
I saw a set in a charity shop - back in January in the velvet lined box
They looked unused and selling for about £2 -50
I nearly bought them
would you ??
twassington
05-03-2016
I doubt it as I have enough cutlery....I don't use what I already have! I often eat with just a fork or even a spoon. I tend to lay a knife out but then it doesn't get used.

How many pieces of fruit do you have per day?
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
I eat at least one tomato every day

I have plenty of assorted fruits in my kitchen -
right now I have lots of various yummy apples several large oranges clementines pears & bananas etc
- but I don't eat them every day -

I could eat lots each day - but due to the calories I opt for other items
- but I might just have a piece when I am making up a batch of bird food and seeds to put out for the birds every 2 or 3 of days

How about you ??
twassington
05-03-2016
Today I had a banana and some blueberries in my cereal, a pear with lunch and just had an orange and yogurt for dessert.

Contemplating some dark choccy now

Do you wash the dishes from your dinner as soon as you've finished it or leave them all til the following morning?
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
They are usually all done - before bed
Sometimes they are all done - as I am making each meal or
sometimes most will get done while I am waiting for the kettle to boil - during the prep
or ............ the last plate and fork done straight after I have eaten the meal

chilly now ----- and my tummy is a bit rumbly
letting me know it wants some food - which does not happen very often at all

Have you eaten your main evening meal yet ?
&
Do you usually wait till you get some ** rumbly hungry signals ** before you have your meals??
twassington
05-03-2016
I had mine around 6pm and was ready for it....but then I usually am

I won't have anything else now until breakfast tomorrow....which my son is taking me out for for Mother's Day It will probably be a full English and some good coffee

Ever been on a canal boat?
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
Yes - Have been on my sister's canal boat
She has had a very long one - for over 20 years

Edit :-
Enjoy your lovely brekkie and Special day Twassy

Her long garden runs right along the grassy side / edge of a canal
and l see several tootle by most days I am there
either from the kitchen or bathroom windows ~ or when outside by the back door or actually in the garden
- and I always wave as they go by /*
Many swans and ducks enjoy this canal

There are many cute canal boats moored all along the tow path - just up near the pub a short walk away

have you ??
twassington
05-03-2016
Not a canal boat, but I have been on the little boats you sail on the Norfolk Broads. I love them! And have always wanted to go on a canal boat one day.

Sleeping on a small boat is fabulous....rocked by the ripples of the water and hearing the rain fall on the roof.

Which would you prefer....a caravan or a small boat?
silentNate
05-03-2016
A small boat... a small yacht perhaps

Ever been on a hovercraft ferry??
twassington
05-03-2016
Yes, once when we travelled on one from a small Greek island to mainland Greece.

I think I may have crossed the Channel on one as well at some point.

Favourite thing to buy in a French Supermarket?
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
bread and cheese
I may have Nate - when we went to Paris - once - by return coach - setting off from Liverpool

I would prefer a caravan
Another b/f had a huge caravan which he kept in a fancy caravan park near Abergele @
** The Tan Rallt ** caravan holiday park

It was literally - A 1 hour drive - from my door here >>>> to the caravan's door -
when - I drove us there for the day - almost every weekend in the summer

You could by a house for less - But they are amazing !!!!
The ground rent was over £2-000 - but the restaurant was A1
and the views of the farm from there = were so amazing in all the changing weathers
We ate there one Christmas day while we were there that time - it was supperbbbbb

Do you like long drives ??
twassington
05-03-2016
No...I don't like driving at all....we will be four hours in the car on the way to the festival I won't like it

However we will play loud music all the way and and I am getting us some sushi to have for a snack on the way

Would you rather have sushi or a trip to KFC?
ChoccyCarole
05-03-2016
sushi

hope you are well distracted on the way there and back

I am trying not to eat anything since I ate all that choccy earlier today

I have managed so far

have you been tempted to buy anything that you have wanted - for yourself this week ??
twassington
05-03-2016
Nothing this week. In truth I think I have everything I need.

I am not keen on shopping....unless I am in a charity shop getting a bargain!

Do you like shopping or is it a necessary evil?
silentNate
05-03-2016
Love it!

Favourite mall or shopping centre in the UK??
twassington
06-03-2016
Loathe all of 'em. So I will say Canterbury, cos at least it has quaint medieval bits.

Being taken for Mother's Day brekkie to a posh cafe by son and DIL!! I hope Fibro is now well enough to enjoy Mother's Day.

Lambs or calves? I have both here on the farm! Spring is springing!!
silentNate
06-03-2016
Lambs are so cute!

Which taste nicest??
twassington
06-03-2016
Er.....lambs. But when I see them gambolling about bleating away in the fields it makes me think I never want to eat them again.....

Had lovely brekky out with son and DIL And it is a glorious sunny day here. Very warm in the sun and very chilly out of it......gardening time methinks!!

Bubble and squeak for breakfast? I had it....absolutely lush!!
hooter
06-03-2016
