I rarely ever waste any foods - & I don't go by ** sell by dates ** etc

All that I may not be able to eat are some soft fruits or veg that has gone a bit squishy
The veg will end up in the compost bin - & - the soft fruits end up mixed into the bird seed and put onto the bird tables for the birds -

I'm more of a daylight reader myself. I rarely read in bed, I think this is a hangover from a time in my twenties I was bed bound for seven weeks. It kind of puts you off eating in bed, watching telly in bed or doing anything other than kipping!!! I wake up, I get up about 30 seconds later

As a child my father always brought my mother and I a cup of tea in bed first thing in the morning. I had a plastic blue and white mug I remember well. Can you remember plates, cups or cutlery you had as a small child?

I have six of most things and three [non matching] cereal bowls and a few cups and saucers. About 20 assorted mugs of different sorts. And my mother's old best cutlery set.

You have just reminded me of what used to happen in NZ
it was a common practice to be invited to a party
and for you to be asked to .................. Bring a Plate
[ I think this actually meant to bring a plate - with the food - that you would be eating yourself at the party ]

I recall some of the regular plates bowls and glasses
that I used as a child from around the ages of 10 to 14

My fave in the UK was a large shallow blue bowl that I used for cereals
I would like to put in every cereal that we had - in this one bowl - then add milk and sugar and then eat them
I would usually end up having some rice rice crispies cornflakes & sugar puffs
and maybe a weetibix

Crikey It makes my small unadventurous roasty din dins with carrots and broccoli, roast spuds and a nut cutlet seem very paltry indeed You make some very exotic creations Choccy!!

I did make guacamole for lunch and scoffed it with big chunks of hot toast Luckily I am not seeing another living soul today as my raw garlic, raw onion and chilli breath after that would likely knock them over
