Actually, same as you, Choccy......

Ever had mashed avocado on hot toast, with black pepper and a squirt of lemon? I can recommend it! I think this is the "dish" Nigella got a caning for. But it is lush

Only in sweepstakes

previous Q - The Almost Nearly Perfect People: Behind the Myth of the Scandinavian Utopia.

Not quite finished yet but aside from the chapters on Finland and Denmark it's a dismal and worryingly stereotypical view on Scandinavia.

What was the last book you read or are reading at present??

Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge. It's about changelings, mysterious figures, and family.

She's a beautiful writer, the words just sing across the page. I'm going to read everything she has ever written, even her shopping lists.

Have you read an entire collection of an authors works.

A few, yes. Once I find a writer I like I want to read everything of theirs.....but rarely manage it.

If you choose a book and find within a page or two it is ill written despite an interesting concept...will you abandon it?

I have continued reading a few books for a whole hard chapter - in the hope that I can get into it
but if after the first grim hard going chapter - I shut it and won't bother wasting another minute on it

How about you ??

I've read Shakespeare, Management textbooks, books on finance and books on anatomy.

I'm made of stronger stuff than bad writing

Worst thing you've read??

Pineapple

No to the west ham question - but I went to one of their matches years ago with my b/f from Ardleigh near Colchester Essex - [ he grew up right by Constable country ]
We both got the West Ham blue n maroon sports tops

My bins all have my house numbers stuck on them
and some have a label also - we were asked to write our address on these labels

I have just eaten 2 warmed up doughnuts in hot custard [ got the bakery bag full for 10p ]

Then ate 2 warmed up apricot fancy pastries with cream
Followed by a warmed up deep blueberry muffin > also with cream
[ these 3 items were sold in a bag for 12p ]

Last time you had no stop button ??
