Does the car from Starsky & Hutch count??

Wasn't the car from The Dukes of Hazard called Betsie??
Picto
18-04-2016
I remember it as The General Lee but maybe it's nickname was Betsie, I just don't know.

What's the best car from a TV show.

Herbie! I love VWs. If I could have a purple VW life would be complete.

My friend's foot has swollen right up and she's in a lot of pain, but can't remember doing any sort of injury. Should she go to a walk in centre, as she can't get a doc appointment until Thursday night?
silentNate
18-04-2016
I'd hit the Walk In centre though their name has always been a misnomer to me!

Ahhh... The General Lee, I remember that the Third Doctor's car was called Betsie

Ever built a shed??
twassington
18-04-2016
No, I have tried to repair one though....with little success.

I've talked her into going, and she's on her way. It will be a hop in centre for her, though

Why are fish fingers so addictive?
Picto
18-04-2016
Because they contain heroin.....allegedly.

Do fish have fingers?
twassington
18-04-2016
They do if you smoke enough fishfingers

Would you be more at home as a hermit or a social butterfly?
ChoccyCarole
18-04-2016
yes fish fingers ......... and bird's eyes
I am ok doing both - but I am a very sociable person and a very big chatterer

If meeting new people -
Do you remember these people's names
** much better ** if :-
you already have / or had a friend - with the same name
Or if you can link it to some well known person that you know of ??
twassington
18-04-2016
No, I forget everyone's names. I do remember their faces though.

Do you plan ahead or just wing things?
ChoccyCarole
18-04-2016
In life - I generally do not plan my life out - very much at all - with those bigger things in life -
I just go with - what the day requires -

If making arrangement with someone in advance - to meet up etc -
I will sometimes ** need to add ** - " - blah blah blah >>>>>>>>>>> All being well "

I have also never ever wanted to or - been able to - ** think in advance - / plan ahead -
on ** what I am going to say to someone - and exactly how best - I will word it **
My mind hits a brisk walk - [ edit < Typo ] hits a brick wall
so I never ever - go through various combinations before hand
[ I know my Sis does do this ]

Do you ever practise in advance
exactly / - what - and - how - you will be saying something - to someone ??

[ Just checking / wondering if 8 - l or ( creates the Roll eyes = 8-(
or @@ or 9_9 ]
Drat - - >>>>>>>>>>>>> no they do not work ]
twassington
18-04-2016
I don't practice what I would say to someone. For a start I wouldn't remember it I tend to wing things.

I jumped up from sitting this morning and something went PRANG in my spine Been walking like a 90 year old ever since. Does that happen to you?
silentNate
18-04-2016
Happened weeks ago, still suffering with my hip!

Didn't stop me helping move a couple of bookcases and cabinets this morning though, peeps just laugh at my pain!

Almond Finger??
twassington
18-04-2016
Yes please, that will cheer me up. I am not taking painkillers, I think it is better to feel the pain and not try to do too much. I just went upstairs on hands and knees It's pathetic!! Wondering whether to try and light the fire and warm the place up a bit. But you need to get up and down to see to a fire. Decisions decisions

My friend has had a blood test for gout! GOUT! That's what old men get! She's only 46.

What sort of cheese do you use for a cheese sauce?
ChoccyCarole
18-04-2016
Hope you both feel much better soon Twassy
.......... and you too Nate

I have often used Mature Cheddar for cheese sauces
How about you ??

I think Gout is caused by eating rich foods
and crystals form due to eating rich meats poultry & seafood
and is very painful - I knew a friend of the family - and older guy who got gout in his big toe joint

I have just had 2 perfect poached eggs - on a crunchy toasted slice of a yummy Large Artisan loaf
I Poached them - the way GBBO winner John described last week
on the new show
** Chopping Block ** which he presents with Rosemary Shrager

Last time you made or ate Poached eggs on Toast ??
/ with salt & black pepperage
silentNate
18-04-2016
Not had a poached egg since I had Eggs Benedict when visiting Wiltshire

I have a special egg poaching pan that I never use, is your kitchen full of similar stuff??
twassington
18-04-2016
No, I mostly use my stuff. Not made a poached egg in a while but I have some silicone poach pods that make perfect poachies. I mostly have a fried egg.

How do you most often eat eggs?
ChoccyCarole
18-04-2016
I mostly have fried eggs - or steam them - just nestled in with noodles etc
I had not had poached eggs for maybe years - but that
chopping block programme made me want to have some today

I used to have the pan with 4 eggy moulds /
I have got the poachy paper pockets & the silicon pouchy egg poaching thingy

I think I have practically ** everything you could ever use ** - in my kitchen
My love of kitchen things began when we lived in our cute basement flat in Paddington in Sydney

Would you ever do a bungee jump ??
twassington
18-04-2016
No, It's not the jump I wouldn't like, it's the POINGGGGG that would happen

There are many kitchen gadgets I don't have....mainly due to the kitchen being very small!

Have you seen Johnny Depp's apology?
EStaffs90
18-04-2016
@ChoccyCarole: I have - once. And that was for a dare.
@Twassington: Yes - it was on the news.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
twassington
18-04-2016
About half a cherry tree's worth

If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper, how much is a peck?
ChoccyCarole
18-04-2016
That Wood be ...... Wots 'o' Wood !!!!!!
A cheek full Twassy

When I was staying at my cousin's house in ** Church Lane in Aughton ** years ago
I chopped a huge stack of logs - non stop for about 4 hours one afternoon
[ a great workout ] Chopping them all with an axe on a tree stump
and then stacking them all neatly
That amount of chopped wood - may have lasted for most of that winter

Have you ever used one of those gas bottle - metal heaters on wheels ??
Some labourers even use them outdoors - on work sites - etc - to keep warm
twassington
18-04-2016
No, I'm a bit nervous of gas bottle thingies! I have a camping gaz two ring cooker but I don't use it for fear of setting Chequers [our tent] on fire

Plus most festivals forbid you to take gas. [Doesn't stop our friends who smuggle theirs in].

What colour was your skool uniform?
silentNate
18-04-2016
Green tie, green jumper, black blazer & trousers with white shirt. Going to Catholic schools that sums them all up tbh

Yours??
ChoccyCarole
18-04-2016
I went to more schools than the average person
My last UK uniform was grey skirt and cardigan - white shirt
Black blazer with a purple and white crest on the pocket
and black tie with white and purple Slanty stripes on the tie

In NZ Wellington - we had a sky blue summer thin fabric pinafore type dress and we wore a white shirt underneath that
and a navy cardigan blazer and beret and white Ankle socks
Winter was some heavy woollen itchy ghastly green n blue tartan pleated pinafore mess
Yurghhhhhh !!
One English horrible deputy head woman - had all the girls kneeling
to ensure there were no short skirts
My uniform was bought and was maybe 5th hand -
with darned patches and areas of thread bare fabric

Underneath many girls wore what were called * Witches Britches *
[ A bit like cycling lycra shorts almost down to the knees -
but made out of the finest stretch polyester ]
to combat the *Windy Wellington* perishing wintery winds
Those whipping winds could blow more than the cobwebs away
The grown up horribly hairy legged boys - always wore short pants
like infants wear in the UK !!!!

Loose Long hair became a million little whips to slash at your eyeballs from every direction
& Lamp posts needed to be grabbed - to prevent being blown away
The head master would drive around after school to make sure all caps and berets were being worn - in those winds it was a losing battle
especially when riding my drop handled sports bike the 2 or 3 miles to and from school - often caught in sudden cross winds that were super cold and dangerous
combined with trying to grab your clamped and clipped on beret before it nearly flew away

What were your uniform colours ??
for those who have already answered that question
How about ......... what pud would you like to have - if you could choose a fave ??
tanstaafl

Golden Syrup stodge drowned in double cream.

Do you believe in, "Damn the calories, full speed ahead!"
