Semi skimmed

Do you recall seeing holes in the foil cap of milk bottles, on the door step, which the birds had made??
twassington
18-05-2016
Yes! My mother used to put an empty yogurt pot and a stone out and had asked the milkman to put them on top of the bottle when he delivered, but sometimes the crafty birds managed to tip them off and still pecked a hole

Did the baker deliver bread to your door in a big wicker basket?
silentNate

Have you seen many pretty flowers on your travels ??
twassington
18-05-2016
SO many! All the blossom trees are out, lilac, Hawthorn, Magnolia, fruit orchards all blooming here in Kent, honeysuckle, clematis, wildflowers such as buttercups, daisies, dandelions, forgetmenots, cowslips, campion...even my rosemary bush is in flower!

Wallflowers and poppies are also growing on all the old stone walls hereabouts.

Did you get soaked today in the downpours across the UK? I took me massive purple rainproof coat!
silentNate
18-05-2016
Not rained here in our office

Looks like it will though

Are you worried about Zika virus??
twassington
18-05-2016
I won't be going to Europe this summer and I'm too old for a bun in the oven methinks So not really. It seems the dodgy summers in Blighty means it's too cold here for the tropical mozzies that carry Zika.

Good reason to holiday at home this year?
ChoccyCarole
18-05-2016
Yes

no rain here all day - few minutes of some heavy droplets @about 10am

Do you keep very occupied doing other stuff - while waiting for the kettle to boil
or the toaster to toast
or just stand nearby & wait ??
twassington
18-05-2016
I tend to do other stuff then forget I was making a cuppa

Yes, I did.

Did you know that Kit Harrington got out of a speeding ticket by revealing to the copper John Snow's fate?

I didn't! The jammy sod!

We'd all virtually worked it out anyhow, despite all the denials.

Ever gone for a job and been ghosted?
silentNate
18-05-2016
Erm... explanation of this teenspeak, 'ghosting??
twassington
18-05-2016
It's when you attend an interview and are told you are going to be employed....then you hear no more from the company and are just blown off when you call or email. Becoming a common problem apparently.

Do you feel calm in a crisis, or do you panic?
silentNate
18-05-2016
Always calm

Never been 'ghosted' thankfully

Should restaurants provide rest rooms??
twassington
19-05-2016
Of course......for the comfort of the customer!

Although in the UK we just say TOILETS

Why do Americans need euphemisms for bodily function facilities?
silentNate
19-05-2016
Perhaps Americans are secretly more polite than the British think they are

Do you think the English really are polite??
twassington
19-05-2016
No. It's a facade. We're rude gits

Do you like using grandiloquent words?
Multimedia81
19-05-2016
