Stains easily, not keen. Hate most coppers

Did you know coffee isn't carcinogenic??
hooter

World Service told me different during the night

Who do you believe?
silentNate

The IARC runs a register of environmental causes of cancer.

There is a scale ranging from category 1 - including activities such as smoking - where the evidence is convincing, to category 4, where there appears to be no risk.

Since 1991, coffee has been in category 2B - reflecting what was then seen as a possible link to bladder cancer.

Now, it has been switched to category 3, which means it cannot be classified.

There, that should be clear : rolleyes:

Any plans this weekend??

What are you currently reading? I have The Real Middle Earth- Magic and Mystery in the Dark Ages by Brian Bates....fascinating read!
silentNate
16-06-2016
Not currently reading anything, no time for anything aside from a copy of DC's original Crisis on Infinite Earths which lives in the loo

Do you say rest room, lavatory or toilet??
twassington
16-06-2016
Usually toilet or loo. I believe loo comes from the French word for water, l'eau......am I right?
tanstaafl
16-06-2016
I believe so. Many years ago I read that the phrase goes ,"Gardez l'eau!", yelled as you threw the contents of the chamber pot into the street below. Whether it's true or just an urban myth I couldn't say.

Do you have a decorated Victorian chamber pot with a colourful collection of flowers growing in it?

16-06-2016
Sadly not, but I would like one!!

Did your grandparents have an outside loo with no electric lighting?
ChoccyCarole
16-06-2016
I would say yes

[ I have been up pottering about - since before 4-30am - due to going to bed before 9pm last night ]

Overcast all day here
Have you got any summery weather - so far today ??
twassington
16-06-2016
Yes, it's glorious here in Kent, washing is nearly dry, hacking of far areas of garden been achieved so total wilderness doesn't close in [got to keep Landlords happy] and front door been fixed by a farm worker the size of a brick sh*thouse. He just walloped it open and filed down the lock fixings a bit, hey presto!

I've also been up since early......is it lunch time?
silentNate
16-06-2016
It is

How do I fake illness to get to see the Wales game at 14:00??
twassington
16-06-2016
Get talcum powder and lightly brush your cheeks with it so you look pale. Disappear to the loo for ten minutes and come back to the office clutching your guts and say, "I really think I will have to go home. I've just been horribly sick."

And yes I have done this before. I should get an oscar for the sickies I've pulled. Go for it!

Is it footy?
hooter
16-06-2016
Nope......it"s coffee cancerous confusion syndrome.....can attack the unwary causing any number of disagreeable symptoms, including scientific researchitus. A malady for which there is no known ccure

Terrible ain't it?
twassington
16-06-2016

hooter
16-06-2016

silentNate
16-06-2016
Quite the opposite in my view

Pleased En-Ger-Land won??
tanstaafl
16-06-2016
They did? Well, that brings me up to date on another matter of no importance whatsoever in the wider scheme of things.

Do you cringe when you see an England flag with England written on the bar, presumably to remind the owner what team he is supporting?
hooter

silentNate
16-06-2016
Given I can barely walk at present I dunno... usually I would dive right in. Kinda explains how I screwed up my body
