I don't think Canterbury has a bowling alley either hoots! It does have one rather dodgy looking cinema and a theatre though.

Is it lunch time yet?

I've never tried a diet. What you see is what you get.

Do you know why saturated fats are called saturated?

Yes, I do. (Although I didn't know why 10 minutes ago.)

How hot was it around your way today?

I don't know why they have that name, although I know what they are.

Estaffs....clocked 34 degrees in the garden earlier!

Diets work only for as long as you stick to them fanatically. Which isn't long.

Trident.....for or against?

Very lovely. If you make long ribbons of them with a spud peeler and fry them in olive oil with plenty of garlic and chilli and black pepper, then add a squirt of lemon.....they are perfection Only a short fry though. Pan hot first

Also lovely roasted in big fat chunks. Or cut into chips, floured and deep fried

How do you like them?

Fried, in mash or in ratatouille. Generally my second favourite green veg to asparagus.

Asparagus
Courgette
Spinach

Your top three??

Asparagus, broad beans, mushrooms.

Courgettes would be fourth, then spuds, then peas!

Which is better, brown rice or puy lentils?

Yes, I've managed OK so far.

If you were standing there draped in one thin - nay, diaphanous - sheet what do you think the response would be?

Horror I expect

My pound shop paddling pool turned out to be the size of a Jack Russel's bed. I guess you get what you pay for. Still I have very nice cool feets

Do you eat less in hot weather?
