Aye.......and only another week and it's August

Where has the year gorn?
tanstaafl
25-07-2016
"Gone! And never called me mother!"

Are you never/occasionally/frequently melodramatic?
silentNate
25-07-2016
At times

hoots - It's been an awful year, can't wait for it to end

Will 2017 be better??
twassington
25-07-2016
We can only hope so

Lost internets and phone line for a couple of hours.....and being rural no mobile phone signal. It was quite liberating. Do you like being entirely cut off from the world?
silentNate
25-07-2016
No, can't think of anything worse!!

Do people who are constantly on their phone irritate you??
twassington
25-07-2016
Yes. I barely use mine other than the occasional text. Horrible things I think I would do better than most if cut off entirely from other peeps with no phone or internet. I'd be so laid back I'd be horizontal

Bracing myself for old school pal and husband to visit next week. They are as unlike me as it's possible to get, but they are over from France for a wedding so I am returning their hospitality of last year. Must not mention politics, religion, Brexit......

How will I keep me gob shut??
hooter
25-07-2016
Stuff it full of cake.......that usually works pretty good

Is the warm wevver about to break?
twassington
25-07-2016
It's looking a bit dodgier over coming days....today was perfect though. Still is

I made cornbread and have scoffed too much of it, so tasty when hot!

Want some?
silentNate
25-07-2016
Yes please. I love corn bread.

Heavy on the stomach tho innit??
twassington
25-07-2016
Very, I felt like a ten ton weight for a few hours

But so delicious Here, save me from myself, eat the rest

Did you know there were such things as moonbows? Where there are waterfalls and bright moonlight....moonbows!!
tanstaafl
25-07-2016
Yes, I've heard of them. I try to impress the grandchildren by standing with my back to the sun, setting the garden hose to a fine spray and producing a rainbow. Unfortunately, whilst impressed by the rainbow, they aren't really interested in my explanation of the physics. You'd think that a three year old would be more interested in science.

Do you know why the sky is blue?
silentNate
25-07-2016
Yeah, my wife explains it really well

I never bothered with science in school which became a problem when entering the medical profession

Did you like science at school??
chinchin
25-07-2016
No I didn't enjoy Physics and Biology. Complex forumluas and cutting up dead rats.

Who is your favourite author?
silentNate
26-07-2016
Douglas Coupland or Chuck Palahniuk. Heard of either??
chinchin
26-07-2016
Nope!

Is the weather cooler today where you are?
silentNate
26-07-2016
Bit early to tell tbh, sky clear though

Did you hear about that horrific knife attack in Japan??
twassington
26-07-2016
No, I have only just got up and turned the lappy on...not got as far as the news yet....

Does it seem as if we get an atrocity almost daily?
hooter
26-07-2016
Troubling times aren't they..:

Makes you wonder what's going on don it?
twassington
26-07-2016
It does, it's like some cloud of doom hangs over the world and brings out the worst in everyone What a shocking attack on the disabled

Do you get milk delivered, at the corner shop or in a large supermarket?
tanstaafl
26-07-2016
We get ours from Sainsbury's.

Do you remember when milk had cream on the top?
twassington
26-07-2016
Yes, and my mother left empty yogurt pots on the doorstep for the milkman to put over the pintas to stop the birds pecking holes in the foil and nicking it!

We lived on a small estate on the edge of town and mum put the milkman's money in cash in another empty yogurt pot on the step overnight. It was never stolen. Were folk more trustworthy back then?
hooter
26-07-2016
Milk still does if you buy organic at waitrose.....came as a surprise to me

The majority lived by a sound moral code back then, now it's do yer own thing and the age of entitlement...

Ever made rye bread?
twassington
26-07-2016
Not made it, but eaten it often. Whenever mini twass comes I gets in a Lidl bakery rye loaf which is lush and she can eat that whereas a wheat loaf she gets symptoms being intolerant. She can have Spelt as well no problems.

I used to make a nice multigrain loaf but now as there's only me I tend to buy it.

Still feeling the effects of over indulgence in the cornbread though

Coffee time??
tanstaafl
26-07-2016
As I've just finished dinner, the answer is yes. In fact I've just finished drinking it.

Do you use one of the many time-consuming ways of making coffee, not to mention the clearing up afterwards, or do you just spoon the instant into the cup and add the hot water?
silentNate
26-07-2016
No time for posh coffee these days so occasionally get nice instant coffee

How often do you go to a coffee shop??
