I did watch some of the last Paralympics, oddly enough since I don't watch the other Olympics. But it was inspirational in an entirely different way if you get what I mean.

Made a lovely beanburger with cheese, tomato and lettuce. What's your dinner?

Ahem......homemade chicken pie and a toffee dab

ever had a toffee dab ?

You uses yer leftover pastry. .....roll out pastry in strip about 8 inches long. Dab on butter , sprinkle on some brown sugar..I had to leave this bit out, sprinkle on some currants and fold one third over onto the rest ,then bring other third into the folded over bit. Brush with egg and bake.

Mine was a bit crumbly cors I made mine with grain free flour.......it don't behave like normal flour and can be a bit challenging to work with, especially if you is naturally cack handed like wot I is

silentNate

Sounds okay but nothing like toffee itself

Do you like proper hard toffee??
hooter
22-08-2016
yus..really nommie. But not for me ...well, only on rare occasions now

Toffee dab is just a way of using up left-over pastry. This grain free flour is a bit hard to work with , but with the addition of a little cocoonut flour is quite tasty....but can`t have that often either

Glad the lympics is over?

Yes!

Was it a huge waste of money?
silentNate

Difficult to judge, I'm sure sports fans enjoyed it and only time will tell if it gave Brasil the boost in tourism it hoped for. I know that while London felt it's Olympics was a success Athens regrets it's Olympics

Judge Rinder is doing Strictly... do you know who he is??
twassington
22-08-2016
He has a TV show of some sort, friends have mentioned it, but I have no idea what sort of show.

Looking forward to Bake off?

Nope.

How long - if ever - will it be until we get another sprinter like Usain Bolt?
silentNate
22-08-2016
Depends how long it takes the Russian scientists to develop him

Have you heard that Canada is 'closed' due to mourning over the Tragically Hip??

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-37148999
twassington
22-08-2016
Never heard of them.....it's like Canada is a different Universe!

Did you ever watch that programme about the Mountie with the wolf?
hooter
22-08-2016
Vague recollection..,......somewhere in the dim and distant. Past,..........

Wot you nomming ?
twassington
22-08-2016
Nothing hoots, no bread so toastless

THere is crisps, but I must resist ..................

What are YOU nomming?
silentNate
22-08-2016
Nowt... still at work

Are Germans seriously panic buying essentials??
twassington
22-08-2016
Why are they doing that? Not seen the news due to binge watching GOT just turned it on now .....

Why do people panic buy?
silentNate
22-08-2016
People are animals... pack instinct

Do you think you are above animalistic desires??
hooter
23-08-2016
Sits slurping me barley grass gloop. Dunno

Very worrying that they want you to have enough supplies to keep you going for 8 days...kinda makes you wonder wot they know and aren't saying....

It could be more economic bad news, could be Russians invading ...could be anything..wot you think?

Wonders if I can live for weight days on me 5 parsnips wot are growing in the garden. Sowed two packets and got 5 parsnips
twassington
23-08-2016
Maybe just sensible Germans being over sensible hoots.

Above animalistic desires? No, we're all animals under a thin veneer of sophistication....in some folks, very thin indeed

Weetabix and banana?
hooter
23-08-2016
Nope........got grain in....

Tomatoes on grain free toast..........wiv grated cheese on...

Do you think me 5 parsnips will be enough?

Me Brussels have been nommed by the local wildlife
twassington
23-08-2016
This is why I no longer struggle with growing my own hoots. It's a battle we are never going to win. I'd have done a few more parsnippages

Ever tried gluten free cornflakes from Asda?
silentNate
23-08-2016
No. Any good??
twassington
23-08-2016
Mini twass reckons so. You'd think ordinary cornflakes, being made of maize, would be gluten free but apparently not

Ever tried rice milk?
hooter
23-08-2016
Yus..didn't like it, but coconut milk is okay

wot you think about the gender pay gap?
