It's all fake, imho.

Mini T and I were discussing the fakeness of so much in the modern world and how nice it is to escape from it entirely here in the middle of nowhere

Orf to the coast today for trawl round charity shops and visit to our fave vegan cafe. I always get treated to things when she comes

The shops are full of Halloween things already! Is it wrong that I love that, yet am appalled to see Christmas stuff out?

Yule, yes. And I put up a tree and greenery but that's for Yule not Xmas. It's about the season not a day!

I've already put out some little decorative pumpkins and mushrooms They will stay out til the Yule stuff goes up.

Glorious day here, herself is on the sun lounger....fancy an iced coffee?

Absolutely not. How people nowadays can believe in such unadulterated rubbish never ceases to amaze me.

Which particular superstition, and you've got a very wide choice here, do you consider particularly meaningless and stupid? Off hand I'd go for knocking on wood to ward off bad luck.

It's been glorious here, going downhill this evening apparently....

If you had to choose between high winds and heavy rain, which would it be?

Well, my friend who is obese was two stone heavier even than she is now and had been refused hip replacement surgery, but in the end they had to operate as she was virtually unable to walk. Surgery went fine, recovery just as for a person of normal weight. So is the NHS right to insist on weight loss before surgery, even though a person with a crumbling hip is not really able to exercise?
