Neither. I used to have coffee and a cigarette. Now I have coffee and a slice of toast.

Do you believe that a full breakfast is necessary?
twassington

By full....do you mean cereal, then fry up, then toast and marmalade? No but when you stay in a B&B you totally will, cos it's THERE!

Rather heavy and muggy here today....what weather delights have you got?

Overcast

There is a thread in GD suggesting that charity workers get all the good stuff before it is put on display!

Could this be true??

Ermmmmm I couldn't possibly comment

There was nowt worth having in our shop today and even the donations area was looking a bit thin on the ground. Last week it was heaving and all manner of good stuff had been donated. It's a complete lottery! I was a bit tempted by a purple coat but it had seen better days so I left it on the rack

If things are had from the shop by any of the volunteers or paid staff, they pay for it of course. No one's helping themselves to freebies unless it is stuff we can't sell. Like out of date chocolates! Once a nearby posh choc shop gave us all their past the sell by stuff thinking we could sell it. But like them, we aren't allowed. So all the volunteers got VERY FAT INDEED

Do you like satay peanut sauce?
tanstaafl
26-09-2016
Yes, I quite like it.

Are you of the generations who don't understand where all this peanut allergy fuss came from. It wasn't there when I was young.

PS And yes, I agree with you about being in a hotel means that you throw all breakfast restraint to the winds. And if there's optional black pudding and a fried slice, I'll have them as well!

My wife has a peanut allergy so I'm staying out of this

I always fill up on a free breakfast

Are Hotel AYCE the bestest thing EVAH??
twassington

They are!! My friend and I are going to one in Southend overnight in a few weeks time, we found it last year when we went to see the Levs and stayed in it. They do the most awesome breakfast and it's just put out, and you are left to literally stuff yourself til you can't move with eggs cooked to order but all the rest of the stuff just out. For a small hotel it did a vast choice of hot things, bacon, eggs however you wanted, meat and veggie sausages, hash browns, black pud, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, pancakes....you name it. They weren't expecting my friend who is a bottomless pit. She ate SH*Tloads. And I do mean that!!! And they still accepted our booking to come back

I have to say I had never heard of peanut allergy until I was well into my thirties....but I guess it must have been around before.

Where can you get a decent afternoon tea in London?
silentNate

Try the Victoria & Albert Museum

Have you tried looking on groupon??
twassington
26-09-2016
I only get groupon offers for the Kent area. And I never use any of 'em.

Isn't the V&A cafe horribly expensive?

Currently the small veggie/vegan cafe in Herne Bay. There may not be much on the menu but what there is is awesomes. And it's cheap and all home made.

I had a look at the cafe menu in the V&A......nice sounding cakes!!

Have you ever eaten a cake made with polenta?
silentNate

Yes, I don't like the texture personally

Do you think you could answer this question I got from Amazon...

Can anyone tell me what is the refresh rate on the Dell UltraSharp U2515H 25??
twassington
26-09-2016
Refresh rate?? Do they mean how fast does a tab reload??

Out here in the sticks it can take a LOOOOONG time. Somewhere with superfast broadband it would be instant!

Have I succeeded in answering the question?
planets
