Five minutes by car maybe ten walking (taking shortcuts) came in handy last time we had a deep snowfall.

Do you keep frozen or dried milk, tins of food etc. in your house?

We barely use milk but have loads of tinned tomatoes and baked beans in the cupboard. Ingrained tradition, I think my mum expected a nuclear war.

Do you buy non-perishables when they are cheap?

I'll have to let Rogana answer that one!

Nearest shop about three miles distant in the nearest village, and I live on a steep hill so heavy snow would certainly keep me hostage. Always lay in tins, rice, dried milk and flour etc in winter.

Would you lay in booze and chocolate as well?

Equidistant to Glasgow and Edinburgh, but quite a hilly area around here. We're also on a hill and if it snows heavily, you can get snowed in. Always have a stock of liquor in the house, in case of visitors.
I watched Ordinary Lies

Do you have a local pub you frequent?

Two. Both in adjacent villages! Old rural pubs that do nice food.

The nearest is my local I guess. I still don't go in that often, as pubs are too expensive other than for treats.

Do you more often drink in your own home?

Don't drink in pubs, too expensive

Got a fancy new battery charger and I'm entranced watching it slowly light up the batteries it is charging...

Ever find yourself entranced in mundane things??

I have become addicted to making pom-poms, one is going to Scotland for the rugby this weekend. Another one has been commissioned to go to Canada shortly.

Do you ever wonder if it is everyone else that is mad?

No, but I'd like to visit Canada, it sounds beautiful at least in parts. Doctors do hand out too much medication, especially antibiotics!

Pompoms don't involve knitting, but they do involve wool!

Are you wearing anything knitted?
