About a week off was common when I worked those sort of jobs. What I do now is stuff that has to be dealt with even if it happens on a bank holiday. Cats are a bit inconsiderate like that However I am not at the sharp end, that's our welfare team. They have to go out and collect the unwanted/stray/injured cats as and when required and it has happened on Mythmas Day or New Years.

I'm sure they will if you request it, American portion size is so big that you'd struggle to eat it all!!

It is, I felt so bad last night looking at how much food got wasted. 12 of us round the table and what was left would have fed another six easily I should have asked for a doggy bag, I did suggest it but no one else wanted theirs.....

Tomato! They are easy peasy. Either a veggie sausage or a meat one....thaw the Linda McCartney's first.....roll pastry, brush with egg, form into rolls, brush rolls with egg and bake. Yum!!
