London with Canterbury and York close second.

It's behind you I do love it, although not been now in some years.

Is this your last day of holidays before normality returns?
silentNate
02-01-2017
Normality never went away

Have you seen the trailers to the live-action version of Beauty & the Beast??
twassington
02-01-2017
No but I will want to see it when out, Cinderella was fabulous!

Do you like faery stories?
tanstaafl
02-01-2017
As in The Faerie Queen, perhaps?

Should Grimm's Fairy Tales be made snowflake-safe?
twassington
02-01-2017
From Spenser onwards and before! ALL the faery stories

And they should not be tampered with, snowflakes or no snowflakes

The festive stuff has been removed and packed away, dusting and cleaning has commenced. Has it in your house?
silentNate
02-01-2017
Never put up in the first place

Ever slept in a car??
twassington
02-01-2017
Yes, in a small town in France outside the gendarmerie with two small kids and ex Mr T who had said there would be free rooms in the Auberges along the road in August and no need to book. Holidays were not left in his hands after that event

There was one other occasion on a camping holiday when the winds were so fierce we sheltered in the car. The tent was still standing in the morning amazingly enough.

Had any camping disasters?
silentNate
02-01-2017
Found a nice spot to camp and got baked with a friend... woke up to find the janitor of the girl's school wanted us off their playing field!

Ever made toast from a fire??
twassington
02-01-2017
That was my JOB as a child! Mum would bring through a tray with slices of thick white bread, butter and various spreads and I would kneel on the hearthrug with my toasting fork in hand and hold the slice out to the open fire until it was toast. The best toast EVAH!

The other way I have had toast is with a paper clip undone and attached to an electric bar fire so you can impale a slice of toast on it. It works but if you take your eye off the prize the bread sets itself on fire This was in an old boyfriend's student digs.

Best spread for toast?
tanstaafl
02-01-2017
Let me guess, and it's a wild guess. Would it begin with M?

The second best spread for toast?
Rogana Josh
02-01-2017
Vintage marmalade with thick orange peel.
Used to love making toast in front of the fire, twass and can still imagine the smell

Are we all back to normal food again?
twassington
02-01-2017
Yes, all the norty things are gone except for a few small pieces of stollen and some spiced biskwits. I've put those away for another time since I am all festive fooded out.

Marmite is the king of toast spreads!!

So back to everyday food....what's for dinner?
silentNate
02-01-2017
We are having a fry, You??
twassington
02-01-2017
An Iceland salmon in pastry thingy with jacket spud and sprouts

Will you attempt to diet now it's January?
silentNate
02-01-2017
I'm going to try to lose weight fo' sure

Eating sensibly or crash diet??
twassington
02-01-2017
Sensibly. Crash diets don't work long term, only good for getting into a dress or pair of troosers for an occasion if you need to. Proper loss is slow and is more of a change of lifestyle. My friend has been dieting for over two years, has lost four stone, another two/three to go. I admire her willpower!!

Why do some TV quiz shows put some absolute doofuses on them??
hooter

Frozen solid and looking forward to gently defrosting on the leccy blankie.
