Nate - it is more about the materialistic ott celebration than religion these days, well that's how I see it. Each to their own and I would happily not get sucked into it all but the kids (who are all now adults) love it, so I go along with it too.
I was raised a Catholic but I decided not to pass that on to my kids, leaving them to choose a faith or none at all. They, like the majority these days, don't think of Christmas as a religious celebration. Whether that is down to me not introducing them to religion or just a sign of the times I don't know.
