I like Anita, but she's not there yet. I don't think she's particularly undermarked.

Her Samba leg and hip action were week, her legs undefined, it was all a bit meh, but decent enough.

She has problems with finishing her lines, she's got talent but her technique isn't there yet and her dances seem a bit messy.

She's got potential, but I don't get the 'she's so great and so undermarked' insistence really.

I also don't think this PERCEPTION will do her any harm, to be honest.

I think Anita is VERY overrated on this forum and its starting to get on my nerves... she hasn't been in the dance-off or near the bottom of the leaderboard yet, so she's hardly getting a raw deal. I think she is good but not great and her scores have generally been about right. The only thing I would add is that Peter Andre is on a par with her rather than being better IMO - but he is overmarked and most people here seem to agree on that!

Helen does a stiffer version of the Skorjanec salsa. She gets 32???? ”

What, Helen got higher than 32 on your screen?

But in any event, I'm not sure under marking at this stage is a problem when they are in no danger of a dance-off - it allows the illusion of the all important 'journey' as the judges add on marks ager on. Rachel Stevens was a good e.g. of this - in truth she didn't get noticeably better as the series progressed (she was consistently good) but the judges started marking her higher towards the end when she needed it to get to the final.”

One of Rachel's biggest fans, but her latin technique and execution was not that good (so, perhaps it IS a good comparison on that field; not in terms of popularity obviously).

It is just very rare to see so many people claiming someone is great, while they are only average. Can't seem to find a good comparison in Strictly past (let's not go down the route of comparing ballroom with Rachel, lol).

To be clear, only Jay's Jive has been great (rest of the dances only good).

I think she has been marked very fairly to be honest.

Going first last night wasn't great for her but her Samba had little bounce, poor hips and she was a bit unsteady on her feet at times. Her place in the leader board was right.

Gleb is prob pulling her support too.

Pfffffftt, rachel stevens had an average score of 35.8 in SCD 6 and did a lot better in the second half of SCD than the first half.

I'm actually less excited by her each week.

Loved the Cha Cha and Charleston. Really didn't enjoy the Ghost AS (esp the Gleb Special) and was underwhelmed by the Samba, which is thought looked really good in training.

Anita is currently 5th on season averages. Only Helen, Peter, Jay and Kellie have higher averages than her. She's out pulling the likes of Georgia and Katie (although that might have something to do with Movie Week, especially in Katie's case) and is only a 2 point average off Kellie who's been one of the most consistently scored contestants this series. Unless you're suggesting Anita is better than 4 couples who are considered contenders for the final, she's not doing all that badly....

I like both Helen and Anita but I thought Helen's salsa was very wooden and apart from the lifts, wasn't very good. I was amazed at the judges comments!
Anita has way more rhythm and fluidity and thought her samba deserved more.

I think she's been undermarked too. She had great rhythm in that samba and had the party feel for me. Yes, in places it was a little stilted, but overall the routine looked good to me.

She's equal with Georgia, not outscoring her :

Anita - 27 +27 +29 +27 = 110
Georgia - 27 +25 +27 +31 = 110

Perhaps ask why you think she should be marked higher?
She's pretty mediocre so her marks seem fair to me

Ok, was out scoring Georgia... Even so Georgia is considered a potential contender so Anita matching her scores is hardly a shame!

Others are making mistakes wheras Anita is being unjustifiably punished, she should be scored higher along with georgia. We'll see through the judges tricks up their sleeve eventually.

Am I remembering wrongly, or did the judges sometimes say on previous series "You've no previous dance experience, so I'm taking that into account with the marks"? They never say that any more.

I agree, I thought her samba looked great in training then I was disappointed on the night

Agreed, she has great potential and if she sorts out finishing her lines and making her leg action a bit cleaner then she will definitely continue improving.
I didn't think she was undermarked but I did think some of the others were overmarked but that's often the drawback of being first out.

Well she looks the part, even if she is technically imperfect. If people like her they may vote against the judges to keep her in the competition, so maybe the low marking works in her favour.
