I know that Halloween is a big festival up here in Scotland but I must urge my fellow Scots not to go to far away from a phone when SCD is on in 2 weeks time.

We have lost at the rugby today and Andy Murray lost yesterday and last week the football team went out of the Euro qualifiers.

I therefore think its vital for the country's moral that we stick together and get behind Kirsty and Carol to bring back the feel good factor to Scotland

So my message to all my fellow Scots is take your phones with you when going to Halloween parties and vote for Scotland's finest

Indeed Scotland. Let's avoid another debacle of Lulu proportions.

It might if it had real Indians.

It was, it was Guy Fawkes night. The infamous night when all of Scotland were trapped on Glasgow Green with no mobile phone signal

I think it fell on the 7th. The celebrations I mean - being the Saturday.

You're back! It's as if all of my Christmasses have come at once.

Although sadly I was too busy celebrating all of my Christmasses and forgot to vote for Kirsty and Carol, sorry.

Indeed

5 November 2011 - the phone lines closed. Lulu in the dance-off. Result announced 6 November 2011.

Yet this year, Glasgow City Council have decided to hold the Glasgow Green fireworks display on 4 November - because there's a footie match happening on the 5th!

But they couldn't change the date for Lulu.

Just sayin'

It never even occurred to me that Kirsty was Scottish. She's lost her accent (if she ever had one).

Kirsty was only born in Scotland, I think she grew up in England hence no accent.

Sitting up here in Glasgow I wouldn't dream of voting for either of them, I'll stick to voting for the English contestants I prefer.

I don't think either lass would mind a bit if the Scots (and everybody else) skipped voting for them. I'm starting to feel sorry for both of them, having to keep up the slog - especially with Carol's 3am wakeup calls and Kirsty's partner's not-so-clever (or sabotaging?) song selections.

Tut tut. That's not the way it's supposed to work mad-1. Haven't you heard of the Scottish vote. You are supposed to all think the same thoughts north of the border. Them's the rules see.

Exactly!

And even though I have may never have been to Glasgow Green (with or without fireworks), It's perfectly obvious that I would have voted for Lulu if that damn fireworks display hadn't been on!

[Ignore anything I may - or may not - have written in the immediate aftermath of the Glasgow Green fireworks night of 2011 ]

BTW - 2011? That many series ago?

I did not know that ferefly, I do feel sorry for poor Kirsty, she is suffering in the same way that poor Lulu did, it is such a shame.

My thoughts exactly ! I'm from Yorkshire anyway, so I have no allegiance to Scottish contestants. Carol and Kirsty wouldn't ever get a vote from me anyhow !

Ah bless you! As a true Celt, I was sad about your rugby loss. I will always support Scotland/Ireland/France as any true Celt does, but vote for those two?

Not on your nellie pet. Two worst dancers in the show.

If DoD had not begged to be released from Strictly, we would be rid of the sour puss already!

Is Halloween a particularly bigger occasion in Scotland anyway? I grew up there and I don't remember it being any bigger than it is in England.
