I suspect the BBC Exec's will be dissapointed their cash cow and media celebrity headliner was eliminated so early. who will produce the headlines and raunchiness now!?

I'm not sure. As a "family show", I think there must have been a few discussions about whether Kristina's particular brand of publicity is a good thing.

I suspect DoD himself did not want to stay. Despite his good nature and impeccable behaviour throughout, I do not think he enjoyed it. In fact I think he found it excruciating.

Nothing to do with his dance pro.

Conspiracy theory!!! DoD deliberately put mistakes into his dance off dance in order to throw the competition! And Jay taught him how to do it! It happened, I tell ya, it really did!

I think he liked everything about Strictly apart from Saturday nights.

Hahahaaaaaa! Silly moo!

But I do wonder if he asked to be released from his contract. If he had such a massive fanbase and people found him likeable it seems odd that he ended up in the dance off with Brenda and Cruella de Ville

Yup, that makes even more sense. He hated the performing.

They are probably bound by a contract to stay and only possible way to get out apart from killing a family member is to lose in the dance-off. Not saying it happened in this case, but if somebody wanted to leave prematurely, this would be the way.

Sad to see Daniel go. Didn't know much about him beforehand, but thought he came across as a really nice person.

I thought he did too until I spoke to a friend's mother who told me that she and 2 others waited ages for him after a concert and he blanked them and refused a request for a photo and autograph.
I know all celebs must get sick of it but there are many to would have been nicer.

Dance wise, Daniel going now isn't too early, imo anyway.

Very nice bloke with a clearly nice and respecful partnership between him and Kristina, but dance wise not exactly much to write about (for me anyway, i appreciate others might have loved watching him dance). Of the dances he did, I don't think it was enough for him to stay much longer. Probably Jeremy and Carol could have argubly been up there as potential exiting celebs, but, it's not shock dancing wise that he didn't connect.

As a singer, if he is/was as popular as is made out (I have no idea of who he is when his name was announced) then I am sort of surpised his fans didn't keep him in, but as we've see with Nicky from Westlife and Simon from Blue (who ended up in the BT quite a bit), big music fanbases don't always save you alone, you need a larger strictly support overall.

Doesn't sound like DoD at all. My brother thought I liked him and went to his house and knocked the door, Daniel got out of the shower to answer it, (brought him in) towel wrapped around him, went off to find a photo and signed it wishing me a Happy Birthday
My sister-in-law was a huge fan, her husband tried his best to contact Daniel when she was dying, he eventually did and he phoned my sis-in-law days before she died.

Actually I don't think the producers had any will to keep him on for longer.
I have been looking at numbers of all sort (Facebook, YouTube, order...) and it's clear that so far running order of perfoming (plus scoring) has quite a lot to do with landing in the bottom two and it is most objectifiable way of measuring (dances and music is another but it is much harder to quantify them).
Daniel has scored pretty low in running order (but high in the other). So I doubt the producers had interest in keeping him in. Or his fanbase was actually more engaged in previous weeks and suffered a @he is safe" assumption.
If the producers are interested in keeping someone in is Pete and all the BBc employees bar Kellie. And I never thought I would say this!

The show won't be the same without Kristina.
