Actually I think men get an easier time on SCD but, the outcomes are reliant on three main points
The judges subjective assessment
The appeal of the performance
The popularity of the couple, with the celeb in particular

And no, it's not contravesial because it's simply not at all important.

The result didn't seem that controversial to me. It is obviously a slow news day.

I would agree with the article, the men do seem to get a "Rum Deal" to me.

Not at all. The men who have left simply weren't good enough.

They really love their question marks there. And I really hate this trend of having them in the headlines Anyway. The secret of celeb males dropping like flies is revealed here ----> They were not good, they were not popular. They did not get the judges' votes and they did not get public's votes. Ireland could not vote There are female celebs that are not very good, too. But at least their pro dancers are popular and keep them there.

Potentially Jamelia and Kirsty could have left by now .. if it was solely down to the public.

No, it's not cOntrovesial. More to the point, the article is 10 days old...Really old news this one.

Let's face it, women as a sex are more interested in dancing socially, than men. Those women selected would likely have spent more time than any of the men, on a dance floor, even just "wiggling about."

So more would be able to adapt to it better, than say...Oh yes a man who was a track athlete.

I agree, with 3 females fronting Strictly Come Dancing and a female producer its hardly surprising that the guys get a rum deal

That is a joke, surely....

The public (roughly equally divided) votes and the judges judge -3 men, 1 woman if we must resort to BBC bashing gender warz!

People do realise that all the male celebs have female partners? It could just as easily be turned around to say the BBC have some sort of vendetta against female pros.

I don't think they know the meaning of controversial !!

When they get a tie in the dance off and it is down to Len to decide who goes home,
and then you get weird decisions.
(That happen to coincide with who has, or has not, signed up to do the Tour)

Not only am I struggling with the meaning, I'm also struggling with the spelling after this thread. I badly need a dictionary.

It's easier for a mediocre (or to be fairer, beginning) woman to look okay in ballroom than it is for a man because the male pro can lead for them. Also why they have an advantage in a waltzathon. Flipside is it's easier for a good male celeb to excel in ballroom because he is leading. So swings and roundabouts, but men lose out in the early stages.

Whether women are more comfortable being showy, exhibitionistic and generally OTT I'm not sure. Granted there are the Peters and Kevins of this world as counter-example but I think women are also far more likely to have done gymnastics, ballet, yoga, pilates etc and so have more flexibility too.

When len sent pixie home last year that was controversial, she was a much better dancer than simon webbe. I think what BBC should do is to remove the casting vote rule and put it back in the hands of the GBP as that would be fairer IMHO.

This is the most sensible idea I have read here for a long time Paul, thank you, I'm sure most of the viewers at home would agree with you, I remember the Pixie debacle like it was yesterday.
