Hello! Welcome to the obviously hotly anticipated ninth season of NTA, featuring not only game creator and future vice presidential candidate on Lindsey Lohan's 2020 ticket, Alexos (me), but also the advent of a new age of artists. Yes, this series, we will see beloved acts from past series face off against fresh blood!
There are naturally some rule changes to this series, so please read the following carefully if you want to play, even if you've played before!
1. Each player mentors two existing artists or band. Both should be an artist or band that has recorded at least 17 different tracks, preferably more (this will vary depending on how many people take part). One of these acts must be an act that hasn't taken part in NTA before. The second should be an act that was eliminated during the jury stages of a previous series. The twist is that returning players CANNOT use an act that you have already mentored. So this is your chance to steal someone else's act and do better than they did
For your ultimate convenience, here is the list of all previous NTA acts. The ones marked with $$$ are ones you can use as your returning act:
You might be a bit lol wtf at some of these acts, but many of them were eliminated on close votes, so many of them have the power to be redeemed!
2. Each show, every mentor nominates a track by their chosen artist or band. Every song is performed by the artist or band on the thread, like in any X Factor game.
3. After the performances, mentors rank their opponents' songs from favourite to least favourite. Members of the public can also vote. However, unlike previous series, you will NOT be ranking every act each week. Instead, you'll only give points to your favourites, a bit like Eurovision. This will change on a weekly basis depending on how many acts are left.
4. The votes are tallied. The category (fans or favourites) with the highest average score is immune that week. The bottom 2 or 3 acts from the losing category goes to jury. The mentors then take turns voting to save one of the bottom 2 or 3 (there is no sing off). The act with the least votes is then eliminated.
5. This carries on each show. Eventually, when there are only a few acts left, there will be no jury and only the main votes will count. When there are 2 acts left, everyone votes for the winner, who becomes DS's Next Top Artist!
The trick with this game, is not using all your acts' best songs in the first few weeks. You should pace yourself and save some of the best till last, or you might burn out!
