[GAME] DS's Next Top Artist #9: Fans Vs Favourites

The Final, part 1
1 Years & Years − 34.23%
2 Marina and the Diamonds − 27.03%
3 Agnes − 21.62%
4 30 Seconds To Mars − 17.12%
Marina and the Diamonds emerged from her dressing room and congratulated Agnes on making it so far. Agnes was so glad that she had become friends with Marina and the two embraced. If Marina had a moustache at this point she would definitely be twirling it, as she confessionaled that she had carefully analysed her edit every week to balance an interesting narrative arc with above average performance and after Ellie left Marina knew that she had to create a new storyline, which is of course ultimate schizophrenic demon, and now she has just three acts in her way.
And we saw two of those acts aka 30STM and Y&Y discussing the competition as 30STM weren’t sure what their storyline would be as they secretly never expected to beat Saint Raymond and assumed he would be here to thwart their goal. Y&Y told 30STM that maybe they should just enjoy being at in the Final rather than trying to come up with some kind of master plan, because who would do that at this stage? And we saw Marina behind a pillar listening to their conversation and Marina winked at the camera in a very evil way.
Agnes confessionaled about her family and how they would be so proud that a Swedish act made the Final for a second time in a row, and she talked about how much she admired Tove Lo. She revealed that she had achieved much more than she set out to and that at this point she was just going to do the best she could to make her country proud.
At this point she met up with Loreen and was emotionally overcome as she tried to string a sentence together. Loreen just smiled and told her they would do their best.
30STM felt that a nationalistic approach was obviously working for Agnes and so they picked U2. U2 weren’t quite sure what was going on but they had a really good time. Y&Y picked Rae Morris in order to try and absorb some of the Merseyside regional vote, and Rae gave Y&Y some positive SPV by saying how impressed she was. Meanwhile Marina artificially constructed some clones of Muse and made them do her bidding, as a thunderstorm began outside. As part of her Machiavellian plan, Marina at first began to perform the wrong song as she felt this would make her more interesting to voters.
During the results, all the acts were praised for their efforts, and ultimately Y&Y proved to have topped the vote yet again. Olly revealed that the weeks leading up to this had been difficult after his breakup, and losing Kyla also, and he wanted to thank everyone for helping him. The it was down to the second act in the top 2... Marina!!! Marina pretended to be devastated and cried with Agnes, who told everyone that she would love it if they could all come to her house and then they could sing each others’ songs. 30STM were just glad that they had made the Final and vowed that they would not compare themselves to other acts from now on. Marina hugged Y&Y and only the viewers could see her hand tighten on Olly’s shoulder.

We began with Years & Years confessionaling about how happy they were to make top 2, but that no one should ever rest on their laurels, and that the greatest fight is still to come. Meanwhile Marina was seen in her dressing room cackling to herself. She confessionaled that she was quite pleased with how things stand and that as long as she continues to stay true to herself she can make sure to be reborn as the antichrist and win the competition hopefully.
During the performances, Years & Years were highly praised for their consistency despite having such a small number of songs at their disposal, while Marina was praised for her evolutionary style. One of the judges mentioned that her first album is her best one, at which point Marina was slightly pissed off but retained her composure.
During the results, Marina made herself cry as she gave an emotional speech about how far she’d come, and Olly wiped a tear from her cheek... ONLY TO REVEAL the black heart! Marina knew there was no time to waste and began to summon the apocalypse by unleashing the true demon of Electra Heart within her and everyone was enthralled by this and failed to notice that they were in mortal danger. However Olly told her he would not be a king under her control and told Marina that he knew that there was still good within her and that he could prove it, and he called upon the power of the 28 fallen acts who at that moment all combined their powers and exorcised Electra Heart from this realm forever. Olly approached Marina cautiously and at that point she revealed herself to be her old self again and thanked Olly for what he had done for her and the world, and she tore the black heart symbol into tiny little pieces that she then stamped on. Olly was like nbd :3 and then was crowned the winner of NTA9 and everyone was happy, the end.

Damn, Saint Raymond came 2nd so many times and yet never once topped. Hayley also finished 7th one week and then went out the next! Heartwrenching!
This has been a very good season, and I hope the next one isn't too far away (as I already have a fair idea of who I want to use!). Congratulations to Years and Years for pulling it out of the bag (although I did vote Marina, sorry Rory!). See you all at NTA #10

Hey, yesterday was weirdly busy so I'm only just seeing this now, but thanks so much for voting Agnes through so far and congratulations to Rory for winning! You did such an awesome job with Years & Years, such a deserving winner!
