I do hope so. I'd love to see him do a beautiful, elegant waltz.

Again this week some of the music choices are bizarre. Poor Georgia and Jay

I love This Years Love. One of my favourite songs. No pressure Kirsty
No pressure to follow Harry and Aliona either

Someone in another thread posted a different version of sweet disposition that people were saying would be better for a tango. I didnt get a chance to listen to it and now can't find it (the search function is awful!) - has anyone got a ink?

Think that was me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVjFe5lPp5k Which I think would work well, the vocals being mangled by the band attempting the original, not so good.

Ah thank you! Beautiful rendition but I'm still not sold on it as a tango song. It's too soaring and fluid.

Anita and Gleb are dancing the Tango to Temper Trap’s Sweet Disposition

Carol and Pasha are dancing the Viennese Waltz to Seal’s I’ve Been Loving You Too Long

Georgia and Giovanni are dancing the Salsa to Sylvester’s You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)

Helen and Aljaz are doing the Quickstep to Diana Ross and the Supremes’ You Can’t Hurry Love

Jamelia and Tristan are dancing the Foxtrot to Celine Dion’s Because You Loved Me

Jay and Aliona are doing the Paso to Bon Jovi’s It's My Life

Jeremy and Karen are dancing the Waltz to Elvis Costello’s She

Katie and Anton are dancing the Salsa to Michael Buble’s It Had Better Be Tonight

Kellie and Kevin are doing the Jive to One Direction’s One Way Or Another

Kirsty and Brendan are dancing the Viennese Waltz to David Gray’s This Year’s Love

And Peter and Janette are dancing the Rumba to Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud

Looking forward to anita, jay and georgia. Maybe the more formal waltz will suit kirsty and also jeremy. Think p'duh and carol will be in trouble and kellie is going top this week

I'm not 100% on it at all, but I could see that just about working, the original, not so much, even with my massive reservations about the potential vocals on it (still scared by the bloke on The Voice doing it a few years ago )

Sometimes the dances are ruined for me by the band or singer backing them, most of the time theyre great but when they get it wrong they really get it wrong.

And Sweet Disposition is an incredibly difficult song to sing Georgia and Giovanni's song isn't exactly a walk in the park either

They'll probably drop it down (Sylvester) to a more reasonable key .. and it'll be fine.

What puzzles me is why a lot of the music isn't arranged to suit the dance. In the early days of Strictly this used to happen quite frequently (Denise & Ian's cha cha to Uptown Girl springs to mind). If the PTB want to pick leftfield tracks, for say, a paso, please get Mr Arch to arrange it so it's suited for a paso! An example is this paso mix of Smooth Criminal..

I'm wondering if they say 'One Way or Another' by One Direction rather than by Blondie because they're going to mix in a bit of 'Teenage Kicks', which I think 1D did with their Children in Need version. Though wrongly crediting the songs is so normal it might not mean anything.

We actually use a remix of one way or another in the studio for Jive which the kids love - i am hoping that the reason One Direction is listed is because of this remix

I'd like it if the PTB could watch MTV and the latest tracks they play out. It would keep it fresh and that, not to say what they put on is a persona non grata or anything like that. Maybe stealing some tunes from the geordie shore playlist may not be a bad idea.
