I think all she meant by that is she did the steps , didn't make obvious mistakes with her feet like perhaps Jay / Ainsley did. Unfortunately she didn't have the shaping, the hands, etc correct.
Think people are taking her comment in the wrong way
I think that's exactly what she meant. i.e. She followed the routine, with no choreographic mistakes.

In fact she would have put more than a foot wrong in respect of technique. All of the celebs do. But it's a comment very commonly made by inexperienced dancers. There is nothing to be read into it. She has to believe she can do it anyway; otherwise there is no point.

I'm quite calm thank you. Appreciate you're entitled to an opinion, just as much as I'm entitled to say that you're wrong.

Of course. I may well be, but I'm just saying what I see is all.

I think they'd be stupidly naive if they think that. I and highly doubt they do.

Of course their primary objective is to dance well (and dancing well isn't just getting the steps right) but they know they'll only get votes if they are likeable (read Gaby Roslin, DVO) so yes they do need to think about how they come across on ITT and accepting critique
Don't disagree, however I do think that a number of those taking part are 'labelled' regardless of the true nature and personality of the person concerned.

Appreciate that, and I'll happily respect anyone's opinion but again I'm saying what you think you're seeing is wrong.

I think it was a literal comment this time around. She even said later in her interview 'I was happy enough with my footwork - it was my arms and my head and my positioning [basically everything ankle up] which was the problem'. She even called her hands... was it awful? Ghastly? Something not very pleasant anyway.

I think taking her to task over her remark is an over-reaction.
Well said. I don't know why there is so much venom aimed at Kirsty, granted she is crap at dancing but you'd think she had been responsible for nailing Jesus to the cross the way some talk about her on here!

BTW was I alone in thinking she was quite relaxed and happy without Brendan?

That's what I thought as well. But I knew the moment she said it how it would come across / be construed.

I think Kirsty maybe needs to think before she speaks! She's naively being almost too honest about things and it puts viewers off.

She's always relaxed and happy . Till the scores come up .
She is a right bossy moo in the training room though .
Never thought I'd see the day I'd pity Brendan .

Rightly or wrongly, perhaps she, along with the rest of the celebs, are foolishly thinking that if they get the dance 'right', then this is what viewers will vote for, rather than how they come across as a person? I'm not saying you're wrong in terms of what a number of people look for before picking up their phone to vote, but I've never heard a contestant say that they'd rather be 'likeable' than get their dancing sorted?
That's what they're told though. VTs and interviews are always about how they have to get things right "or I'll be going home", judges often tell people that they've definitely done enough to go through to next week etc. and then when someone good ends up in the dance-off they all act as though its impossible to comprehend. We all know how it works, I find it daft when someone like Jeremy or Carol gets told what they "have" to do, to stay in the competition. If they became brilliant they may even lose votes!

The training room VT was worse .. and no point in thinking she isn't like that all the time as Brendan more or less said she was. Pretty much everyday he said. Must be very wearing!

Just throwing it out there that she might not be like that all the time, despite you suggesting there's no point in thinking otherwise?

I actually don't think Brendan even dislikes her. She seems to work bloody hard but just isn't getting it.

Thank you Lisa!!! 😁😍 Lovely comment, and that's exactly it. Some people just aren't natural movers, dancers or are particularly artistic in their movements and thoughts, but they give it a damn good go, throw themselves into it, and get frustrated when it doesn't come as naturally as you think/hope it would or even should. But doesn't mean they're not having a huge amount of fun, or that they think they're better than people perhaps think they are.

I wrote her off week one. She's another Victoria Pendleton really. She say's she'll take on board what the judges have said, but doesn't, just goes back on the dance floor and performs exactly the same mistakes. Floppy frame and only one expression - sheer terror !

Perhaps some people learn new skills quicker than others, whether that be music, dance or algebra? Just a thought?

DS is about opinions and Yes I find her language and gestures and body language abrasive on Strictly .How she is in her own kitchen I have no clue but I thought that was obvious
