I am at work and should not be on this forum. I had to reply. Let me clarify this. I am not the person who said that. I know the meaning of the word. I don't take every word on this forum for it's literal meaning, I take it in context and I thought the person was trying to say that they just don't like see Kirsty on TV.

Kirsty has commented about claims that this is the 'bitchiest' Strictly season ever. Maybe the forum can take some pointers from the Strictly cast.

The epithets loathsome, hateful etc. are deplorable and should never be used about someone known only by their face and profession in the public eye.

I do think that delusional can be defended - as can be construed from her "I didn't put a foot wrong" comment on ITT.

Her good friend Gabby Logan was the same; although tbf Gabby was a good dancer: the public simply disliked her overly competitive attitude and her visible anger at her marks.

Kirsty's attitude isn't as bad as Gabby's but there are similarities - both have been raised in families who have risen to the top in their respective sports where determination to occupy top spot is second nature. In many ways this can be admirable but in the lighthearted atmosphere of Strictly it is somewhat unattractive.

However since I discovered that Kirsty is an LFC supporter I've decided she can't be all bad.

It can't be any fun to go out there when you just don't get it. So I'm not wishing for her that she'll be in it much longer, but that doesn't mean I don't like her.”

At 39 Kirsty is hardly young.

Add to that list 'vile' - last year a poster described Kevin as vile in some thread. I quite like him, but I can understand that a fair few people find him irritating/OTT etc.
Serial killers and paedophiles are 'vile' - he's just a dancer fgs,

So, 'middle aged' then?

Except that middle aged women never used to look remotely like her or Katie! They are both in fabulous shape - kudos to them.

So into which age group do you think most of the jealous females fit.? 16-26: 27-37: 38-48 - or would they be older than this?

OK, she LOOKS too young and beautiful for viewers to think of her as a charming duffer who is brave just to have a go. People have high expectations of someone who looks like Kirsty (same was true of Rachel Riley). I wasn't having a go at her, I like Kirsty, I'm sorry if it came across as an insult.

It's not how she looks, it's not how she dances .. it's how she thinks she's better than she is. Nothing wrong with a bit of confidence but to look indignant at your scores is pushing it a bit (especially as .. she was pretty bad in that salsa.) It's bordering on conceit.

This is another example of SOME people NOT listening to and watching the interview in full.
My understanding from her comments was that she was satisfied with her footwork and that she did the steps as required but disappointed with her arms and shaping which are so important for a Paso Doble.
Selective hearing me thinks. Call me cynical but if people are anti someone to any degree any interview like this will be interpreted a certain way in an attempt to justify their initial view. I am not fussed one way or the other about Kirsty or anyone else in terms of personality. I am only interested in how much I enjoy each couples routine every Saturday night which by the way changes every week.
I have no favourites or anyone I am looking to find an excuse to slam on personality grounds.
Specifically with regard to Kirsty her dancing so far has been poor but not humiliatingly poor.
I have seen better, I have seen worse.
She deserved to be in the dance off last week but rightly won the dance off imo.

Well daddy got to the top in both scenarios and they got a leg up out of it.

I don't see any Olympic medals for Gabby's ribbon twirling and ball bouncing if she's so competitive and as for Kirsty her first gig on TV was thanks to being at a Ryder Cup dinner, so I guess she can thank daddy for her whole career too.

A few people have said similar, myself included, in this thread but I think it'd devolved too far into personal comments and petty arguments for anyone to take any notice.

In fairness to Gabby she did get injured which ended her gymnastics career so I shouldn't be too tough on her.

I agree. I can see how Kirsty is not coming across well to the strictly audience at times, but what she said in her ITT interview was pretty clear I would've thought. She made a point how, stepwise, both her dances were identical, yet the end product was very different in the dance off. That's why she loved the dance off, she said. Because it provided that massive insight for her that dancing is just not a series of steps to get right. Just like herself, I'm not convinced yet that she's a totally hopeless case, and I hope she get's another week or two to get to a point where she can be happy to leave on a good dance.

Plenty of people have now given their alternative view on what Kirsty actually meant when she said she didn't put a foot wrong in her paso but none of them have explained why she said 'what!?!?!?' after the judges scored her salsa. Is there any other explanation than that she thought she deserved more points?
