People who sometimes watch those channels say that they never saw Apprentice candidates doing adverts. What's more, wouldn't it be a bit of a spoiler of what's to come on a forthcoming series of The Apprentice?
Even when a new series of The Apprentice starts and the list of candidates with their photos appear in online media publications, not one article mentions that any of the candidates have previously been seen on adverts for a shopping channel.”
If any ads and demos were shown it would have been in one selling session only. So unless you watched 24/7 you could easily miss it. They were selling real products so the orders could easily have been real. If the segment wasn't announced as being to do with The Apprentice there would be no obvious connection. Even if you guessed it was, it's not much of a spoiler, more of an extended trailer, months before broadcast.
I lean towards the "real sales but not many noticed it" theory. Rather like when they do market trading. But if it was all fake then that would be a very good reason why it's no longer done.
It is a pure selling task and there's enough selling activity going on every week as it is. Do we really need any more?
