Looks like Simon is going to make Louis a judge on X Factor next year. They have informally shaken hands on the deal according to this http://www.justsimoncowell.com/#!Lou...f25875acb6656d

That should shake up the ratings with all the 1D fans tuning in.

Ironic really, considering his first audition was disgraceful!!

He's got no less talent than Mel B or Tulisa so I don't see why he shouldn't get the job.

He managed to get all the way to 3rd without the audience hearing him sing a note. Even his terrible audition wasn't shown until afterwards.

That'll be Grimmy gone then. They hate each other!

He's the least talented member of One Direction, singing wise, so he'd never have a great solo career. So with 1D on a "break" next year, it would make sense for him to be a judge.

And yes, I can't see Grimmy making it back next year. The relatively poor ratings will be blamed on him (Simon only ever blames members of his judging staff when ratings are poor, hence the tedious revolving door panel).

Purely to get 1d fans tuning in .....so so cynical if it happens.

I don't think he would do very well though. His voice kind of grates and personality isn't exactly memorable.

This seems highly likely

The 1D 'hiatus' next year. Despite becoming a parent then he will be quiet in the news (as of the others will be) so being a judge would get him out 'there' plus it could double the ratings with all the cry hard 1D fangirls watching

Louis and Olly on the one programme ... I can't wait ...

It's great for the show.

Huge ratings boost plus I don't think Louis is a very smart man (I could be wrong) and that can mean entertainment. Grimshaw is clearly holding back and being cautious. I would imagine Louis to be more out there.

Do we seriously think that? I would have thought a large section of One Direction's UK fanbase would already be fans of X Factor anyway. I'd say a slight ratings boost would be achieved, but nothing incredibly substantial.

That being said, I can definitely see Louis becoming an X Factor judge, given that One Direction are beginning to wind down, for a while at least.

He's used to being a puppet for Syco - so he's just an extension of that. He'll say/do whatever he's told thus ensuring all goes as planned. Plus never saw why 1D got so famous as most of their songs are boring.

It makes sense for him. He must be well aware of his vocal limitations, so once One Direction are over, TV is the only way for him to go if he wants to stay in the spotlight.

Will never happen - what the hell gives a talentless bitchy twerp from a manufactured boyband who can't sing a note in tune, the right to judge others on talent? If Cowell thought he got a backlash from Grimshaw, just you wait for this one...

Louis Walsh will be back.

What did Cheryl had the first time that Louis doesn't have right now? What about Mel B? Kelly Rowland?

They were mediocre performers. Sure they are all slightly better singers than Louis, heck even I might be, but they were all also less sucessful.

Louis is talentless but he experienced a level of pop music sucess that is very rare to find in a talent show panel.

In case you haven't noticed, practically no one involved in this to programme has an ounce of musical knowledge (I mean knowledge of actual music), nor can most involved sing or play any sort of musical instrument. So I don't think it is worth getting antagonistic about this individual about the rights of judging others.

Mel B experienced more success than 1D in spice girls and seems to be a better performer than Louis overall.

Kelly Rowland was a member of one of the biggest girl groups around where all the members could sing. She has far more respect and knowledge than Louis would have.

Whatever you think of Cheryl, in order to get in her group she had to perform solo for weeks and compete against other singers. She put herself up for scrutiny and succeeded. With Louis we didn't hear him sing til after the show was over.

really? for the worse you mean. the more they gear towards the tweenie market the more chance the show will fail.
they just are not grabbing a wide enough audience anymore.
this year has been nothing short of appalling so far, Simon is just losing the plot.

He tried to make X Factor USA a success and the more changes he made the further the ratings dipped till the axe fell.

Last year ITV renewed their contract with X Factor for another three series so it's here until 2017 at the very least.
