I'm not a fan of either of the Jordan's, but Ola, I think, was getting on well with all her fellow pros this year and certainly seemed in a much better/more professional mindset than she was at times last year.

If it weren't for her big mouthed hubby then I wouldn't think there would be any reason she wouldn't be asked back. They are a package deal though so I wonder if it's easier to keep him slightly tied to the show via Ola than cutting him loose to spout all sorts if she's not there.
Her choreography is not great though these days .. it's never been that good. The main dance people remember of hers was choreographed by someone else. She's not as interesting a choreographer as Kristina or Nat .. and they've had their fair share of duffers.
I think it's time for her to move on, but when she does, there'll be no stopping the vitriol from JJ. I think, at the moment, ridiculous as it seems, he's reining himself in!

Good grief! Get off your high horse. My post wasn't directed at you or any other individual poster. You were not the only person to use the word gob on this thread, not even the first. My point was James was being interviewed by a magazine when he made his comments, so why should he not be allowed to share his opinion? Does he run off at the mouth sometimes? Yes, he does, but not always. His tweets during the live show make a lot of sense. And I agreed with James that John Sergeant should not have withdrawn from the show. His comment about Kristina was inappropriate. As for his comments about the BBC, he's likely to know more about what goes on than anybody on here. I happen to agree with what he said during the magazine interview and said so, also pointing the result of the poll at the bottom of the Mirror article reporting on the magazine interview. He's hardly the devil incarnate. The gossip mongers on here on the other hand remind me of the old women who sat knitting around the guillotine during the French revolution.
James is allowed to say whatever he wants. However, I'd have thought that he'd have been media savvy enough by now to be able to handle such questioning. Instead, he keeps shooting his mouth off without considering the consequences, and making the kind of mistakes you'd expect of someone who is new to media interviews!

I doubt James does know that much about what goes on. He's been out of the show for two years and he's barred from attending the live shows (and, presumably, the Friday studio rehearsals). Most of what he comments on in articles is stuff that's already in the public domain (i.e. Jay's previous dance training/experience, Kristina being partnered with DoD as 'punishment', both of which were first mentioned/discussed on here weeks ago) or stuff that directly pertains to Ola (Calendar-gate).

Yup, the second the pro lineup is released without her name on it there will be a release date for the Tell All - which I imagine would be a bit of a headache for TPTB and the Beeb. (I'd probably read it though - I'm nosey like that. )

Probably smarter to keep her around and keep James semi-civil about the whole thing.

Oh God! What a position for TBTB to be in!
It'll come sooner or later though. .. they may as well get it over. I personally am not inclined to believe James so not sure what he says or writes will be taken as gospel by anyone but it will be awkward for those concerned.

Why can't they be gracious like Lilia and Erin etc? They've been involved with the show for a long time and it's massively raised their profile. They should be grateful .. and have more self respect.

Depends on how much is all. Maybe it would not be interesting at all. Did they have orgies there? Or is he going to tell us that Sir Brucie wore a wig?

The thing is, what can he possibly say that the die hard fans of the show, the people who post here and in other forums, don't already know and it hasn't been discussed to death? Flavia sh*agged Matt DA? Alesha was drunken one night and vomited all over the place? Brenda and Lulu hated each other? If he publishes a "tell all" it'll be a lot of old news to most of us, I suppose. More to the point, if he does do that he can say goodbye to any possibility of working in TV ever again.

They have had good years together on Strictly and most people get used to a lifestyle and standard of life.
I think that with James and Ola, it's more a case of trying to live the 'celebrity' lifestyle (and look the part), but without the income to back it up. In the 7 Days documentary they did, they spent money as if they were loaded - Ola bought James a £25,000 watch (for his birthday, I think?), they hired inflatables (at a cost of several thousand - the amount was mentioned, but I can't remember what it was, just that it was a lot!) for their nieces who were staying over. It was just bizarre! If that's representative of their normal spending habits, then it's hard to have any sympathy for them if they're struggling to keep up with that lifestyle.

[as an aside, do you frequent another well-known forum? It was bugging me why your 'knitting' allusion seemed familiar, then I remembered that I'd stumbled upon a similarly worded comment on another forum recently. Small world, possibly?]
No, that isn't me. I have used the allusion on here before, but not for ages. After posting that on here last night, I watched the video on the Touching article by Jeremy thread and I decided to try and avoid negativity to do with the show, so I won't be posting again on this thread.

The only reason it's unfair all of a sudden is because Ola didn't get paired with Jay or Peter, and if what goes on behind the scenes is so bad why have Anton and Brendan stuck with it all these years, James Jordan is just a spiteful moron who doesn't deserve the fame and opportunities he's been given.

£25,000 for a watch. I'm trying to let that sink in, that anyone bar a bloody Rothschild or a Kardashian would pay that amount of money for jewelry.

Or indeed, if it's so bad, is he happy for his wife to be part of it?

I saw in our post office that Ola is the face of Children in Need this year (good for her). That does make it difficult for me to believe that she's out of favour at the BBC. I think the feud with Craig might be real, because of the tour, but I wonder if the BBC press office encourage or at least tolerate James's 'rants', all publicity etc, and the ban and everything might be a bit of a myth that James thinks gives them more attention. Ola's probably their best known female dancer, her and Kristina, and I don't think they would be that keen to let her go.

I really like Ola and I wouldn't like her last dance to be Iwan throwing her around. If she's not enjoying it any more she should stop, for her own sake. But I'd be surprised if the show cuts her quite yet.
