I just got a DMR-HWT150EB
I agree with stoli412 about the lack of any search functionality. I'm reduced to using the TV Guide app on my iPad to find out if a programme is going to be on - or what films are on in a week. The programme guide is also incredibly slow to use. One weird thing I've found is that the device lets you create up to four lists of favourite channels - which could be really handy when the programme guide is so slow. Unfortunately, although creating the list is easy - and I've done it - there doesn't seem to be any way to actually use the list. Does anyone have any idea how to do this? I beginning to think this is functionality they forgot to include. |

When you bring up the guide, isn't there an option at the bottom of the screen to change the list you're viewing? I think you press the blue button.
Not at home at the moment and I have a different model, but I found this confusing too. |

Not at home at the moment and I have a different model, but I found this confusing too. Red button (schedule) Green button (jump now) Timer record OK (gives programme info) Channel up/down Back Although it works well, especially the Freeview play facility, it isn't very intuitive compared with my old Humax T-2 and the handbook is awful. Sadly according to comments on these forums the latest Humax triple tuner model seems to be dreadful, at least there are few negative comments about this device. |

According to the Panasonic website the current firmware for these is 1.12. Can anyone with an up-to-date box confirm:
You can watch Netflix and catch-up while recording? There are no issues with coming in and out of standby while recording? Scheduled recordings/favourites are maintained when just updating channels (i.e. not a retune from the menu)? Currently debating between Panny and FVP4000T. Thanks in advance for any help! |

The Panasonic seems to be the more reliable box, the Humax a work in progress, which is why I've held off buying one. If I was in the market for something right at this moment I'd buy the Pannie.

Not at home at the moment and I have a different model, but I found this confusing too. When viewing an off air programme press the "i" Status button. To the right of the programme information it says "All DVB Channels", under that is a blue block and the word "change". Press the blue button and it cycles through, All DVB channels, Favourites and Radio. If you select "Favourites," when you go to the EPG it now displays your favourites list. You can also tidy up the main All Channels menu by using the Hide function,(Basic settings/Settings for channels/Channel list/press OK on the channels you want to hide from the EPG). It is a good reliable PVR but takes a lot more getting used to than my old Humax T-2, having said that it is possible that Panasonic TVs are similar and their users may have already learnt a similar system. |
