There is no excuse for violence and intimidation in the workplace. Jean Cristophe could end up in legal hot water if he does something like that again.

Henry is a law student - will he go to tribunal?

It was certainly extremely over the top.

He shouldn't have done it and shouldn't get away with acting like that.

I could hardly believe my eyes. What on earth possessed him to do such a thing?

Say what you will about Ramsay and his temper but I don't recall Ramsay ever throwing something at someone in a kitchen.

Ok, so almost sending beef to a veggie was possibly the worst mistake you could ever make in a kitchen but nothing excuses throwing something at someone in a kitchen. Imagine if someone had been close to boiling water and jumped knocking it over themselves.

Ramsay would have just swore alot and told the person to f-off. Extreme, but not dangerous. Throwing a plate to the ground and smashing other items to the ground had alot of potential for alot of nasty accidents.

In a kitchen people are close to hot stoves, hot pans of water, cutting with razor sharp knifes, opening ovens. If any one of those contestants had jumped or reacted suddenly to the crash of plates and such it could have resulted in a rather nasty injury.

Ok so im milking this for all its worth but still. Wouldn't see Ramsay or Oliver do that, nope.

Put me in mind of Ricardo on Back To Reality

Jean Christophe shouldn't have done it, but it was very entertaining (especially the plate punch!)

I was suprised that Henry got voted out, I thought he may have been kept in to see the sparks fly. I guess people felt it was best if he got out of there.

I remember that! Christ!

This is even worse though because Jean Christophe is in a position of authority.

Looks like someone out there voted for the other guy .. I mean it must have been 1 vote to 0 surely.. I can't imagine 2 people voting for this rubbish.

I worked in kitchens in the evenings when I was a student, I've seen and heard about head chefs doing much worse to staff - including throwing knives at a waitress because she held a plate at the slightly wrong angle while serving

You've got to have nerves of steel to be a commis or a KP...and protective clothing!

I thought it was understandable, try working in a busy top class kitchen, as Emzi's says lots worse can and does happen.

Understandable, maybe. Unacceptable, certainly.

I'm sure worse does happen - it should be punished then and punished now.

I thought it was totally unacceptable, fine, have a go at him all you like, swear until you're blue, but throwing stuff is just dangerous. Although they all probably signed forms to say they can't sue

oh jeez. you big girls' blouses. stuff like this happens all the time in hot, busy and stressed kitchens.

the world is fast becoming a nannified-sue-them-help-mummy place.

if there were no swearing or plate throwing, you'd all be saying how dull it is. hypocrites and twee little tv watchers. please turn over and watch open university instead. no nasty men there. sheesh.
