Someone please do me a favour and tune to channel 379 and press the Info button and see if it says in blue above the program description Nat Geo HD because it is on my box and it's causing recordings on that channel to fail. Thankyou

Same on my box failed to record Ice Road Truckers last night and could not delete it from recordings page. Phoned BT at 9am this morning they said I needed a software download and total reset which deleted all my recordings. When I went to the EPG the same problem occurred. I tend to have my EPG channels as text and not logos and if you use text it comes up as Nat Geo HD. If you use logos it's History HD but if you set a recording it comes up as Nat Geo HD in the to be recorded section.

I am test recording a few things at the moment and the first though it said Nat Geo HD did record the correct programme off of History HD

If it persists will phone them back and tell them I think it is a software glitch as opposed to a box problem, I check my software on a regular basis and it was up to date.

Have phoned them three times this morning. It has been raised to a level two issue as they have had a number of complaints about the same thing from all over the UK. If you leave the icons settings on the EPG you can record History HD but it will read Nat Geo in the recording section. If you have the EPG set to text it will not work and channel 379 reads Nat Geo HD. It appears to be a glitch that happened yesterday.

There is also a problem on the History IPlayer, when I went to view Ice Road Truckers I got a programme about Ghosts or Witchcraft, this seems to be tied into it.

Luckily the only recordings I lost were not for my viewing and they are all BBC programmes so they can be watched via IPlayer which appears to be working fine for BBC.

Spoken to a chap in the Tech department at length, when he tried the same version of box that I have he got the same problems as me.

Basically you can record History in SD or in HD but you will get it listed as Nat Geo HD, it appears it will record now. If you have your EPG switched to Text instead of Logos you get channel 379 listed as Nat Geo HD and it may not record, a bit hit and miss.

All this is a You View problem and may well of started from a software update yesterday. There is no need to do a factory reset as this will not solve the problem.

He also confirmed that there is a problem with the IPlayer on the History channel and again on his box he got a programme about Witchcraft when he should have got Ice Road Truckers.

Mt box is a BT You View box it appears to be the only version that is effected. He has sent details to all relevant departments to put things right, though he said it may take a few days. When doing all this I noted that there had been another software update today.

Recordings still failing I can watch them while they are being made. But as soon as the recording has finished it becomes a fail and unavailable to watch.

I did some test recordings some I could watch but others just disappeared. As far as I know I have not had the above but I am recording something overnight so will see what happens.

Have you got your EPG on Text or Logos?

Switched the logos off and I managed to make recording a short while ago but according to the channel lineup I now have two Nat Geo HD channels on 373 and 379

Now fully fixed but to make sure everything works correctly they are advising to switch the box off at the mains or by the switch on the back leave for a few seconds and then switch back on. It rejigs everything without losing anything.

Also the IPlayer has been sorted out.
